If he's paying back as he's borrowing, why is the debt still rising rapidly?

loffyloffy:
Even without looking deep, you can see how senseless Rufai Oseni is.

If Nigeria's total debt is 152 Trillion, is it reasonable to ask that has it not all been borrowed under Tinubu?

The mumu also knows that fx adjustment means our debt in Naira terms went up, while in Dollar terms it has been stable or even going down.

Lastly the fool knows that govt generaly borrows to meet up with budget and payback as revenue flows in. Tinubu has the biggest budget ever and will continue to borrow to execute. He also have the buggest revenue ever, meaning he is paying back as he is borrowing.

This shirt term borrowing keeps the economy rolling

And Nigeria debt profile is still on the rise? Of what benefits are the ones borrowed under the Tinubu's government been to the economy of this nation apart from the looting? Even all the projects being borrowed for are not of much economic benefits yet.

Where are the fuel subsidy savings? What of all the spurious revenue generations by the MDAs? Nigeria's is not among the best performing economics despite the rebasing. The purchasing value of the naira is worthless. The masses are still grueling from the weight of the crumbling economy.

The economic literates have put the economy in the worst shape since independence.

Surprisingly, there are no external factors influencing this state. It’s all caused by their own economic “literacy”.

Arrogant set of people who won’t accept that they’ve failed even when they know they’re failures.

And these borrowing what exactly is he using it for? Because the effect is not felt in the life of an average Nigerian, except for the politicians. They live luxurious life and still bill average citizens for excess taxes. Maybe rufai should ask you what these loans are used for... You said he is borrowing and paying back, yet the debts keep increasing.. You sure say u get senz like that so?

Debt per person - $5,454

Qatar debt - $93billion
Population - 3million
Debt per person - $31,000

Libya debt - $60billion
Population - 7million
Debt per person -$8,750

Saudi Arabia - $391billion
Population - 54million

Na poor man and poor thinkers dey fear debt....

From the data above ... It's obvious that Nigeria doesn't have debt Crisis... What Nigeria have is revenue crisis....

Compare to it's peers globally.... Nigeria have the lowest debt per Capita on Earth

Tinubu directly and indirectly grew the revenue of Lagos by 28,000% in 26 years....
The first of it's kind in the whole of Africa....

With such a man as Nigeria president....

Tinubu would grow Nigeria revenue to a point where Nigeria can borrow enough to fix it's over $1trillion infrastructural deficits....

Honestly, my pain is not even the borrowing, unaccountability of oil subsidy till date, or even the non-accountability of recovered loots or borrowed money.

The issue here is that Nigerian youths generally are busy dancing skelewu and shawki on tribal and religious war, instead of joining hands against polithiefians. meanwhile the politicians are busy looting per second. forgetting that terrorism, poverty, and hunger have no barrier.

Lets continue and see what the future will hold for our children unborn.

We are our own problem, not only the government. It’s absurd that someone here is still trying to analyze failure here. Don’t worry; when the time comes, you’ll go down with them unless you reorient yourself.

So tinubu should keep borrowing, till he hits the borrowing limits...... 😁😂

This bayo onanuga, is bereft of ideas on living within your limits......

Because my credit limit allows me borrow $500,000, I should just keep collecting all the money, till I hit my limit..... What are they even doing with all this monies, that benefits the majority and not the minority (corruption is not stealing)..... 😁😂

Lol. Mr. Bayo Onanuga just keeps dragging the reputation of the Presidency in the mud. Mr. Rufai Oseni can be a tad unprofessional sometimes but what type of response is that for Pete's sake?

The sensible thing to have done would've been to take the time to "school" Rufai and explain those loans/provide context but he just had to turn it into a rofo rofo.

Yes all countries borrow but none wears it as a badge of honor like Nigeria under this government.

Put on the news. The Conservative Party and others in opposition are berating the Labour government on the rising public debt viz the rise in interest rates.

In the US the government is presently shut down because of spending disagreements in Congress. The issue at hand is the rising debt.

What are our opposition parties doing back home to tackle this government's financial recklessness. What is the National Assembly doing to push for better value for government resources.
