The real issue with most youths is that they are technicians and employees in real life (not online).

To understand how to run an economy, you must think like an investor first because your timeline must be to do what works long term (10 years) rather than short term. If not...

This is the first time Nigeria is getting an investor as a president. Will he make the right judgement calls? I don't know. But I hope he does.
Honestly. To run a country is not easy as it seems to us outside the government. It need years of experience and years of having insightful vision to actualize good plans. Na why I just dey look youth saying we need youth this and that. Other countries too are being run by old and experience men. That is how politics has been run since after medieval times.

Where is the debt crisis coming from? Nigeria was using 97% of revenue to pay debt, but has continuosly reduced the % of revenue used to service debt from 97% to 67% to 50% of revenue as of last month, while it aims to increase its revenue and achieving it nicely. Why do people create imagination on their head and fly with it ? hate against the government of the day?

Compare to it's peers globally.... Nigeria have the lowest debt per Capita on Earth

Tinubu directly and indirectly grew the revenue of Lagos by 28,000% in 26 years....
The first of it's kind in the whole of Africa....

Bros you need to know that those analyzing failure here are all govt paid agent, not the ordinary citizens on the street facing the heat!

This is such an irrelevant statistics grin
If you were to in anyway involve the population, the best metrics would have been "per capita"

Even without looking deep, you can see how senseless Rufai Oseni is.

If Nigeria's total debt is 152 Trillion, is it reasonable to ask that has it not all been borrowed under Tinubu?

The mumu also knows that fx adjustment means our debt in Naira terms went up, while in Dollar terms it has been stable or even going down.

Lastly the fool knows that govt generaly borrows to meet up with budget and payback as revenue flows in. Tinubu has the biggest budget ever and will continue to borrow to execute. He also have the buggest revenue ever, meaning he is paying back as he is borrowing.

This short term borrowing keeps the economy rolling.
Oh you didn't read the part that said 65 trillion was added under Pres Tinubu

Why not just accept like Father like son,. ... how do you rationalize ×2 debt despite removing all " subsidies" ...

All past Govt paid subsidies on basics for Nigerans, yet what they borrowed is less compared to what Tinubu that is not subsidizing as borrowed within a year .. how do you realize that

Was it not Tinubu that told Nigerians they've met Revenue target for the budget as at August .... is it not ridiculous that such govt ois still borrowing more

Coastal road is the only Tangible project under Tinubu nd it is funded by loan independently .. with the Tax hike, high revenue more than any govt Why are we still borrowing more, For what exact huh

if we are sacrificing lets know what we are suffering for ... very uselezz set of people

Are you the one (Rufai) paying the debt?

The Nairas stability over the last one year is an indication of that.

Ways and means would lead to an increase I money supply which would lead to a depreciation of the Naira.

You also don't understand what you are saying. Is Debt to GDp per capita the same thing as Debt per capita? The info you posted here does not have any semblance with the original position I critiqued. . The guy is erroneously making reference to Debt to population and using that to compute debt per capita. What then is the essence of that in economics?
Now you are tying yourself up in a knot.
He wrote 'debt per person', when what he meant was 'debt per capital'. This is my point.

Where did you study your wn economics?? Or is that monetary policy framework?

This is sad and dumb If you actually wrote that. Ways and means would appreciate a currency if the president doesn't want to spend too much on naked girls in sandy beaches with tax payers free money he gets?

Just wow!

Humblesam:
Oga this your comparison seems smart at first glance, but it’s actually quite misleading. Looking at a country’s debt by measuring it as “debt per person” doesn’t really reflect how well that country is doing financially.

Consider this , Qatar and Saudi Arabia can handle a lot of debt per person because they have enormous oil wealth, small populations, and large foreign reserves. In contrast, Nigeria has a low GDP per person and struggles to generate revenue. So, even if our debt per person seems low, paying it back is much tougher for us than for those wealthier nations.

Let’s remember that Nigeria spends over 80% of its revenue just to service debt — not even paying it down, just covering interest and obligations. That’s not a sign of a country that’s “doing well.” That’s a warning sign.

The real problem isn’t that we owe too much money, it’s that we don’t earn enough. Our revenue is too low, our economy isn’t varied enough, and we rely too heavily on oil. These are serious issues that can’t be fixed just by borrowing more.

And regarding the Lagos example , yes, Tinubu increased Lagos’s revenue, that’s true. But Lagos is unique. It’s the commercial center of the country, with major businesses, ports, and a large taxpayer base. What worked in Lagos doesn’t necessarily apply to states where poverty, insecurity, and informal work are common. You can’t tax people who don’t earn enough to survive.

Borrowing isn’t bad *if* the money is used wisely to create industries, boost productivity, and grow exports. But if we keep borrowing for spending, subsidies, and unnecessary projects, we’re just accumulating debt without any growth.

In summary: the problem isn’t that Nigerians “fear debt” we fear careless borrowing without clear benefits. Comparing Nigeria to Qatar or Egypt without context is like comparing a small roadside shop to a big multinational company. The numbers might look similar, but the situations are completely different.
You make a really good point — it’s not just about the numbers on paper, it’s about the context behind them. Debt per person can be misleading when countries have vastly different revenue bases and economic structures. For Nigeria, the challenge isn’t borrowing per se, it’s creating sustainable sources of income, boosting productivity, and diversifying the economy.

This is where strong organizational structures matter, even at the corporate and state level. Companies and institutions that invest in proper management and HR practices — for example, teams like those at Target HR (https://www.targetdhr.com/hr-services/outsourcing/) — can help ensure that resources are used efficiently, projects are executed effectively, and talent is retained. That kind of operational discipline is what translates borrowed funds into real growth, rather than just accumulating obligations.

Ultimately, careful planning, strong governance, and skilled management are just as critical as the numbers themselves.
