The Barcelona assistant coach standing in was quite ineffective. His presence not felt at all.

Yamal was pocketed. This game was set and match for Raphinha. Madrid was for the taking in the second half but no point man who could do the job.

Barcelona tried but they were outplayed and outmuscled by the Madrid players.

This wouldn’t determine the direction the cup goes yet.

It appears you're grasping at straws sir. Same sczeny that just saved a penalty? Good players do not play well all the time. The irony here is rashford, ferran and sczeny are having a good game here. We can also say Barcelona are lucky because Mbappe missed from the spot
It seems you've not been following Barcelona's matches this season. Szcesney, Rashford and Fermin are not regular starters in this Barca team. They're only getting game time because Garcia, Raphinha and Dani Olmo are injured. De Jong would never start if Gavi was fit and healthy.

I love Rashford and neither did I say anything bad about Szcesney but the reality is that they're not regular starters in this season's Barca team and that's a fact.

It's such a shameful thing that Real Madrid with all their stars could only win by a one-goal margin against a Barcelona team that's currently missing players like Lewandowski, Raphinha, Gavi, Dani Olmo and Garcia. 😆😄

Lol, Real Madrid are desperate to revenge for all the humiliation Barcelona put them through last season. Barcelona really dealt with them sha. grin

They're lucky that Barcelona is missing players like Raphinha, Lewandowski, Gavi and Garcia.
It's part of the game. Loosing key players is not an excuse. When they delt with Madrid, they weren't complete as well.

The era of Barcelona dominance in Spain was gone the moment Messi left.
What are you saying? How’s Barca been dominating with Messi when Ronaldo was also there, or do I need to teach you that Madrid has been dominating there for ages too.

You're wrong. Loosing key players is actually a reasonable excuse especially when those players are in the calibre of Lewandowski, Raphinha, Gavi and Dani Olmo. Those players were all available last season when Barca destroyed Real Madrid FOUR TIMES.

You can't call yourself a big team when your big players are injured. The fact that Real Madrid could only win by a one-goal margin against this obviously injury-ridden, depleted Barcelona team shows how weak Real Madrid is.

It simply means that if those players were available, na another 4:0 or 5:2 Madrid for collect grin

Congrats to Xabi and Madrid... They might actually win the League this season, which would be awesome for the young man's coaching career..

Serves that so called kid wonder right... The One that carried his entire village to Ballon D'Or ceremony thinking he was winning it.

Little kid was just making mouth anyhow earlier... Insulting Madrid.

Little wonder why some fans dey abuse am for field, because of how he behaves. He's such a self centered player.

How would he feel if Rodrigo was the one complaining as he's being taken off the field??
That bratty/selfish Vinícius no wan gree share a little of his game time with his fellow country man

True... But, he should shut up and play football.

The unnecessary hype and noise don too much.

Messi and Ronaldo didn't get to legendary status by disrespecting everyone else after shining for just one or two seasons.

He doesn't have the talent of Messi or Ronaldo though his potential is high, his personality can't always be compared to others, even Ronaldo in his time was arrogant and pompous, everyone is different chief

I don't know if I should see this as lamentation or looking for excuses.

As for Madrid, they can only beat what's in front of them. It's not their fault that the injury bug struck Barcelona at the wrong time.

And on a final note, Barcelona have not been playing very well this season mainly because their aggressive pressing has become so disjointed that opponents are bypassing it with less effort and when that happens, the defence is all at sea.

Continue with your excuses for a mediocre Barcelona Team today. Last season when you were dismantling them with aplomb you nor whine o.

It should have been with a higher margin had this Madrid team played with the same tempo as in the first half.

Yamal talks too much for someone a little above average. This is the fraud they where hyping to win world best? He purposely made that statement about Madrid just so he could make the match all about him. Unfortunately he is not a messi or Ronaldo who do their talking on the pitch.

Lol, you don't know me from anywhere to know what I would have said or not.

Those who know me personally can affirm that I've been shouting it for the past two weeks that if Real Madrid should catch this injury-ridden Barcelona team, they're going to score a lot of goals.

Now imagine my surprise watching the match and seeing them score only two legal goals and winning the match with just a one-goal margin. It's a BIG SHAME to Real Madrid. With all their stars, they couldn't destroy arguably Barcelona's second team. Unbelievable.

I'll say it again:

A fully fit Gavi will bench De Jong any time any day and it's not because Gavi is a better player. It's because he's a better presser and he suits hansi flick's style of play. De Jong is more of a natural deep lying playmaker who thrives only when others are pressing for him. He's not a box to box pressing machine that a fully fit Gavi is.

Lol, it's pretty simple. The pressing looks disjointed because the pressers aren't available. You're literally proving my point. cheesy

Lewandowski at 37 still presses defenders like he's 27. Raphinha never stops running, and Gavi is a pure pressing machine who'll chase anything that moves. When these guys aren't available, how do you expect Flick's system to click?

That's why it's a BIG shame for Real Madrid that they could only scrape past what was arguably Barcelona's second team, and to make it worse, Flick wasn't even on the touchline today. grin
