If we’re being real, Nigerians dey love familiar brands. When it comes to phones, na TECNO, Infinix, iPhone and Samsung wey dey reign.

But worldwide, other brands dey trend big time.... like realme, Oppo, Vivo. For example, realme dey ship millions of units every year in Asia and Europe. Same specs wey Redmi dey offer, realme dey give too, sometimes even cheaper.

So the question be:

Why we dey always stick to only the popular brands?

Na lack of awareness?

Na fear of “unknown” brands?

Or na just say we no wan take risk?

Who here don try one of these “newer” brands before? Share your experience make we reason am.

Most people stick to what they know, fear of wasting money on a brand they’ve never used is real.
Re: Why Do Nigerians Hardly Try New Smartphone Brands? by StellaGirlie: 10:37pm On Oct 31, 2025
New brands struggle here because Nigerians value trust and resale value more than just specs.

“It’s also about after-sales support, if people can’t find parts or repair centers easily, they won’t risk it.
