The detained self acclaimed leader of the proscribed separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has abandoned his earlier plan to call witnesses in his defence in his ongoing trial for alleged terrorism offences, Very Nigerian reports.

The Court on October 24 adjourned till October 27 for Kanu to open his defence. Kanu had written the court, indicating his intention to call witnesses and applied for witness summons.

When the case was called on Monday, Kanu said he has gone through the case-file and realised that there is no valid charge against him.

He argued that since he is convinced that there is no valid charge against him and since he was subjected to unlawful trial , there would no be need for him to conduct any defence.

Justice Omotosho advised him to consult experts in criminal law on the consequences of the option he has chosen.

The judge adjourned till adjourned till 4th ,5th & 6th November for the adoption of the final written addresses based on the defendant’s position that evidence led so far and the charge have not established any case against him or for the defendant to enter his defence.

Accusing someone of terrorism without providing ingredients of terrorism found on him.



They real Case should be first court settle the jurisdiction of him to face trial, no saying he should add that among the written defense after his defense.



It shows they are not out for justice.

At the end he is telling the court that he doesn't submit to it's authority and will not respond to the allegations made by the prosecution.

He is in effect, now telling the court to base its findings and conclusions on the presented evidence by the Government .

This can not be used in anyway to appeal further his case in a superior court since he refused to put up a defense on the allegations against him.

So what is he going to use to appeal in future ?

It appears he has resigned to his fate.

Adeyinka Grandson was jailed for hate speech alone. Ekpa is but a minion of Kanu.

Yet in your megalomaniac mind, the scenario is that mastermind and founder of IPOB will "disgrace Nigeria" with literally thousands of hate speeches to his name, public solicitation of funds to buy guns to fight Nigeria, damning video and audio evidence, forensic testimony will corroborate, instructing Tinubu and co be killed etc, etc.

Literally thousands of thing it can be proven Kanu did Adeyinka Grandson and Ekpa are not guilty of yet both found guilty and jailed.

Somehow, in your mind, Kanu will "disgrace Nigeria" because he childishly petitions some famous names as witnesses in his case. As if anything those will say in Court can distract from Kanu's countless clear and proven criminal actions he is standing trial for. Dey play.
