While I can't say anything about the % from the Southern Regions, but you see those Northern States, at least 70% of their entire population live below abject poverty.
Oga, try and read slowly.

It is not disputing that 70% of the North is poor.

All it says, for every batch of 100 poorest people in Nigeria (using that benchmark for simplicity), 82 or more will be found in the North.

I wonder why there stats is not even full sef.

You see that 1.7% in south south.

About 80% of them come from Bayelsa state.
That state is cursed
Overpopulation is killing the North and the SE. No matter how much they try, their resources won't be enough for the enormous population but they think they are doing the SW and SS by giving birth to baby piglets and Camels for electoral purposes. They should carry on

Just take a moment to consider what you're saying. What will happen to the large population of women? That will pave way for the importation of male gadgets to flood this country? While some countries are focusing on ways to encourage men to marry multiple women and empower women to reduce the number of single women, you seem to be suggesting the opposite.

Nigeria needs a firm leader to enact a law to control her population. No man should marry more than one wife if he doesn't earn more than 1m per month, especially in the north.

The president will also ban and criminalise street begging among healthy people! When resources are scarce, nobody should be having children like rats.
In other words, the president should proscribe Islam
This sounds like a very bright idea

They'll still find a way to put rabbits to shame buy having like a dozen children from a single wife. The best option is to peg the number of children to 3 at most for any man. You pay huge amount of money for each additional children you have after that. You go to jail if you default for two months straight.

It pisses me off when I see able bodied beggers. Like I mean able bodied beggers.

It's now becoming a menace in the society.

There is a place called YKC BEFORE SLAUGHTER IN PORTHARCOURT, you go see able bodied Northern women and children chasing you for #100 and even #50.

Work, them no go work.

And they do that shit with joy
Hmmm,Guy not only YKC they are littered every major junction and busstop in PH causing nuisance.

It's very annoying when figures are dished out, yet there's no proper methodology as to how they came about those figures.

Reference:
It is just the fate of geography that has triggered all that. Proximity to the coast and easier access to international trade.

When you leave Lagos and start heading north either through Ogun, Oyo and onto Kwara or via Ondo to Kogi on the east so the wealth factor dissipates.

Even within Lagos the bulk of the wealth is concentrated towards the Island, the Peninsular and clusters around the ports and the immediate surroundings.

Even within Lagos wealth is not evenly distributed talk more across the entire southwest.

If Nigeria is to prosper, to achieve the so called trillion dollar economy it has to invest in opening up the country to access both land and human capital that abound throughout. It has to create wealth centres all over to tap into their comparative advantages.
grin story for the gods……so many factors attribute the economic status of the Yorubas and geopolitical location is just one of them. The early education of the Yorubas is also a major factor.

I made a post some days ago on a tread on quality of food sold in the different geopolitical region, well here we are..... The North has proved me right. Untill the Northern elites and politicians are bold to stand to their responsibilities, we will keep having this kind of statistics

WELL, BROTHER, YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO BLAME THE PEOPLE OF BAYELSA BECAUSE THE OPPORTUNITY COST OF BUILDING SUCH THATCH ROOF HOUSES FOR THEMSELVES ARE THE ALTERNATIVES FORGONE BY NOT HAVING MONEY TO BUY CEMENT, GRAVEL, SAND AND/OR STONE FOR STONE PITCHING THE FOUNDATION OF THEIR HOMES.

SO, AS THE POPULAR ADAGE GOES-IF YOU LIVE IN ROME, THEN YOU MUST BEHAVE LIKE A ROMAN.

TYPICAL OF THIS WAS WHY NIGERIA's TARIBO WEST TURNED TO A CLERGY AFTER HIS FOOTBALLING CAREER THAT MADE HIM FEATURE FOR BOTH AC MILAN AND INTER MILAN AT SEPARATE TIME OF HIS CAREER
