The so-called AI antispam bot is a low-budget thing that doesn't do the deeping work of cleaning this discussion forum. Some mods here create new thread topics and right from the FIRST page, you will begin to see relentless toxic defamations of prominent individuals, disinformation and more. These NL moderators cannot say they don't see these trolls but they choose to leave them alone. The pussyfooting on whipping everyone into line by the authorities is IRRESPONSIBLE. There's NO absolute freedom anywhere.

Where do I lay the blame?

To bring robust development to a country such as Nigeria, with ethics, morals and standards the Lee Kuan Yew model of a benevolent dictator has to be adopted where even the death penalty is being applied till date for heinous crimes such as Indian hemp and other hard drugs. I purchased Lee Kuan Yew's iconic book of over 800 pages back in the early 2000s entitled: "From Third World to First The Singapore Story" and that book literally blew my mind as to how a city-state such as Singapore and any other country can be build.

This is commendable. I suggest Nigerian government follow suit. A lot of influencers are causing trouble here in Nigeria. One influencer that was talking about dieting was mixing up simple sugar and complex sugar, categorizing all as bad. If you don’t eat simple sugar atleast, where will you get energy from?

It depends on what you are talking about. You don't necessarily need a Bsc if all you need is a technical certificate or if you are talking tailoring. Sometimes you might not need certification at all if you have gotten years of experience. For example, no Professor of Business Administration could withstand Mr Otedola when it comes to commerce nor could any music lecturer defeat someone like Late Michael Jackson in music although he had no tertiary education. The law says you must be skilled in whatever you want to present to the public.

Did you know that there is something called Body of Knowledge in any given field for every level of acquisition of such knowledge? Whether it’s in commerce, Maths . Engineering , law or medicine. You must demonstrate mastery whether through examination or competency skills test under the supervision of a professional in that field before you are deemed qualified.
This is the reason we have accreditation/ professional bodies who serve as gate keepers for all Body of Knowledge. Without these institutions which are established by law or in some cases decrees, anyone can just wake up and claim anything.

Concerning that Lee Kuan Yew's book, i bought it because of Pastor Sam Adeyemi but I never read it.

I thought about the enormity of work needed to execute it and I knew that Nigeria, as a society, wasn't ready for it.

To burden myself with the knowledge of something that deeply true yet not have the power to execute it would have run me mad. Or become a society change crusader anyway.

But your intelligence is something I respect.

I feel nairaland should have a small quarterly segment where like-minds can just meet to chat to share ideas and insights. One never knows what serendipity will bring.

The biggest problem this generation will ever face is that motivational vibe of "As long as you have results, you know am be that".

It started with the "Na person wey pass, na him know book" which undergrads kept saying for years to bypass a need for intensive learning by searching for shortcuts instead.

Every success in life has definite rules, principles, processes and standards to it, which everyone must first submit to before they add their own flair, uniqueness or brand. I pray Nigerian youths would realize this.

The problem is still that most youths are semi-illiterates, have a sparse knowledge base, in so many subjects and topics, with their source of knowledge coming from people with TikTok accounts explaining highly technical stuff in 60 seconds.

Imagine someone explaining calculus to you in 5 minutes and you think you will understand it.

Unfortunately, when the experts now talk, it sounds funny and untrue.

Take years to learn economics, accounting, banking, commerce and sociology. When you are true, you'll come back to this post and say "Soludo na professor true true".

You used professor instead of people to lend weight to your allusion that brilliance does not solve the issue of capping. Don't be dodgy or change the premise of your statement.
