Did you see these numbers? From January to September 2025, Nigeria OVERPERFORMED its monthly VAT budget every single month! September capped it off with an incredible 40% overperformance (N872.63bn actual vs. N625.13bn budgeted)! But the big question is: What's driving this phenomenal surge in revenue? Is it increased compliance, better economic activity, or a combination of strategic fiscal policies? More importantly, where should these extra billions be prioritized for maximum national impact? All these banded agbadorian figures of increased VATs does not in any way possible change the worthlessness of the purchasing power of the naira, increasing cost of living, provide means of economic survival. |

If VAT has risen, it should ordinarily mean consumption has improved which means the economy is growing But we're not seeing any growth which means the VAT is as a result of price inflation. Higher price means higher VAT overhead |

Liveair:He still thinks he is still a governor, still fixated on IGR forgetting the welfare of the people is equally important, he just collects and share amongst his people, while the masses are neglected He doesn't pay salaries and pension sometimes until the 32nd or 35th of the month, minimum wage not fully implemented, and arrears of both workers and pensioners stretched to several months iand years, in this regards buhari is far far better than this man called Tinubu yet he will send his people to brandish fake figures, if indeed he is meeting targets like this ,what is he doing with it,the people are not feeling it,its either he is lying or looting the funds |

Why then does the government keep borrowing if the economy is supposedly doing well? It honestly doesn’t make sense anymore. Everywhere you look, the headlines say “record profits”, “billions in revenue”, “economic growth on track.” ...Yet, the government keeps borrowing; billions upon billions; and the average citizen still can’t feel any real impact. If the country is truly making money, why the constant loans? Why does every budget cycle come with another round of debt, despite all the talk about progress and prosperity? On paper, every sector seems to be “recording massive profits,” but the reality on the ground says otherwise. Prices keep rising, infrastructure remains poor, and the common man is just trying to survive. It’s hard not to feel like the whole thing is just propaganda. Numbers and press releases meant to keep supporters celebrating, while nothing changes for the rest of us. At this point, I feel it's save to conclude that our leaders are managing statistics, not lives. |

Onewazobia:This is actually very simple, standard of living doesn't mean more money for the people, it means more money to create and build the economy, and it doesn't happen over night, it will take time to see the effects, the present stage is STABILITY, the economy is stable now, it will begin to grow gradually. |

The perpetual town criers would derail this good news with their usual rethorics of hunger and suffering. For your information, vat comes from the masses purchase of goods. If Nigeria was actually as bad as you all said, the people would not purchase enough to generate such revenue. We all know about the prevailing hardship, but it's no where as bad as they are parroting it everywhere. |
