They just did, n currently replacements/connected ones are still getting in but I believed they will recruit more by next year, cos it's a newly established hospital, they need the manpower

Hi everyone, I really need your advice.
I have an OND and HND in Accounting, but someone once advised me not to stop at HND. So I went on to earn a B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance, and by God’s grace, I also completed an MBA in the same field.
Currently, I’m pursuing my ICAN certification, and I recently got a job that pays ₦450,000 per month. However, the workload is extremely demanding, it’s literally Monday to Monday, and even when I work tirelessly, the tasks just keep piling up.
I’m an accounting professional with strong skills in Excel, Power BI, and various accounting software, but lately, the job has started taking a toll on my health. Constant laptop use has affected my eyesight, caused back pain and poor posture, and I often feel mentally and physically exhausted. I can’t even prepare to read for my ICAN exams or study on weekends because of the constant body aches.
Now I’m at a crossroads, should I quit this job and look for a lower-paying but less stressful one, or should I hang on until I secure a good federal government job or top private firm?
For context, I leave home by 6:00 AM and don’t get back until around 9:30 PM daily, and remote work isn’t an option.
Please, I’d really appreciate your honest advice.

U are in a dicey situation torn between your health and your job. Don't they give leave? Instead of resigning, you can just take leave so you can rest and take your eyes off the system for a while. After which, u go back to work but do not resign until u have gotten your desired because most times when u resign, u may likely stay long at home before getting another one. Just take your leave instead.

If age is still on your side for applications, I'll advice you start looking for new offers ahead. Job offers are largely tailored for accounting professionals, so it shouldn't take so long before you land a better letter or less stressful one.

Should you quit before you job? I wouldn't advice yes nor no due to the real life situation in nigeria, you still need to survive and you can't say how long you'd be jobless before God bless you with another job.

So hang on a little more, apply to as many applications as possible, one can never over apply to jobs. Write your ican exams maybe 2 paper each diet to reduce the reading stress.

The workload unfortunately is something that maybe beyond your control to subdue but someone advised second handing it to a person of which I assume may not be possible if your job is an onsite one. But I strongly with your qualifications, you'll get something good sooner than later.

Stay strong bro

if you say you will quit you are right, if you say you will continue the job you are also right.
If I were you, I die in that job.
Death is death. Dying doing that job is more honorable than dying of hunger and depression because of lack of money and job.
I know your health is important, but your stomach and paycheck is equally important.
My advise again is don’t joke with your leave days, utilize to the fullest, use them to improve your health. Always utilize your organization health facility and discuss with the doctor what you are facing I am sure he will have one or two remedies for your back pain and eyes.
Again, buy medicated glass, always wear them like you are in a war front. This is my little advise.
You see that N450,000? If I were you, we die there. Only few federal government jobs pays that amount, the so-called A-list agencies maybe.
With this job paying N450,000, I don’t need any job in my life again, I will save up and transition to Business and Investors’ quadrant of Cashflow quadrant of Robert T. Kiyosaki.
I advise you stop eying federal government job, you are already in one equivalent or more than federal government. Calm down and save the money and start thinking of business opportunities to invest your money instead of job opportunities were you maybe even be scammed.

Re: Monthly Net Salary Of Federal Government Ministries, departaments, Agencies And P by Hussen240: 1:56pm On Oct 29, 2025
It baffles me that some people believe one should sacrifice their health just to make money. Personally, I could never take up a private job under such conditions. I’d rather earn ₦150,000 in a flexible organization—where you might only go to work twice a week—than earn ₦500,000 in a job that demands you leave home by 6 a.m. and return by 10 p.m. every day. There’s truly more to life than just work.

My advice is to find a flexible job, such as with NOA, NBAIS, NIWA, or NPC, where you can earn around ₦130,000–₦150,000 monthly. Alongside that, start a small business to help you cover other expenses and build financial stability without losing your peace of mind.

Just my opinion thou.

So should he resigned and stay at home before the gov work will come? When will it come? He can use part of his leave to rest but resigning without any job is frustrating. He will need more to cover up some expenses.

It seems like some of you think from your anus. Let me clarify:
1. Money answereth all things hope you know that clause.
2. How on earth do you think finding a job that pays N150,000 is easy too? You are foolishly even saying he can get the job at NBAIS, NPC, NIWA. Do you have slot there readily available for him?
3. The depression of starting a good paying job like his and quitting it with no replacement is far serious than what you foolishly think.
4. He can give himself say 3 years to work and quit and then start a business or invest the money he gathered elsewhere. Must he be employee must he be working for paycheck all his life?
Bro, why you always this vulgar? I'll suggest dialing it back and learning a bit of decorum, it goes a long way. A nice word is a skill that can open doors in places you least expect. There's nothing fashionable or clever about being vulgar. It just makes you come off as the guy yelling into the void. Or has there been where being a total asshole actually helped you?
