If you have seen Queen of the Damned from 2001, then you will love Talamasca: The Secret Order. It's about vampires, witches and the mystery underworld. It also has some spice of spy funk in it, for those who enjoyed The Jackal.

Right from the opening of episode 1, I knew I was in for a superb series. I kept panting for more. The soundtrack, very dark and subtly eerie, reminded me of Queen of the Damned, the movie featuring the late Aaliyah, which also featured a Talamasca institute that studies the underworld of vampires but never interferes.

I've seen only two episodes as AMC+ is yet to release the rest. Mind you, it is British concept, and you know how Brits love to make their series entailing.

It wasn't just one scene.
The kids new Bunkmate had several scenes. The whole investigation arc had several scenes too.
Not saying the story wasn't solid but those things take away from the average watcher on this platform and that's why I didnt recommend.

I mean romance scenes

I'm on the latter group who don't get the hype that sometimes I think a lot of people are pretending to like it because they think it makes them appear intellectually superior 😅
There's just this dull atmosphere I get when watching it.

They shouldn't overflog the anne rice universe. The interview with the vampire is doing so well. Mayfair witches not so good.

Mayfair witches and the vampire chronicles meet up ahead. That would be interesting to see.


The talamasca might be good. I'll check and see. They might decide to introduce the talamaca characters into the vampire lestat as they play a big role in that book.

Even a friend of mine who's not a TV buff hyped it. I couldn't get past the first episode. I'll make it my weekend watch to see whats up. So I can devote time.

wow, I remember Queen of the damned and it crazy sound track then, watched it as a kid in the early 2000s...ive been a horror movie fan from age 8.." why won't u die".. "forsaken"

My bad, Lestat is indeed white. But another major character, Louis de Pointe du Lac, was originally a white plantation owner in the novels. In the show, however, he’s portrayed as a Black man. Louis is a key character because Anne Rice wrote about him extensively in many of her books, so changing his race felt off.

The beauty of the vampire chronicles is that the sexuality of the individuals involved isn't the main thing. The story is much more captivating.

Though, I must say the series of Interview With The Vampire, clearly make the sexuality of the main characters almost the main thing.

If I want to be a hater, I'd have said Du Pont is a paedophile, turning a very young child into a mindless, blood sucking, scheming vampire. Lol

It's the main thing but not like forced. It's not like they said this gay guy is a vampire it's more like this vampire is gay. I don't know if that makes sense. ( I watching boots now and the first thing is this weak gay guy wants to join the marines. I felt put off.) Who is he asides his sexuality that's what we should be interested in.like barca in spartacus

Du pont didn't make Claudia. Lestat did to bind dupont to him knowing how much he would love her. That's why Claudia was annoyed with louis when armand entered the picture.

All in all its one of the best books I've read.

There was too many g@ybriel scenes in Interview With The Vampire series and I'm beginning to wonder which show Baba watched saying it wasn't too much.
Their romance and history was the whole front and centre of the show.

The show was very good that's why it was to an extent digestible cos of the great storytelling.

But as for S2, I don't know what is happening and have been struggling for several months now to complete the second season. I can't seem to get past episode 4 or so. And it's a premium snooze fest. I fall asleep on like 5 different occasions trying to watch it at night. I just tire.

I don't even know what to do with it anymore. If not for how captivating the first season was, I for don drop am by now. Cos na just meandering dem just dey do since beginning of S2.
