That is always bound to happen. You collect bribes from these organizations instead of supervising them. You collect bribes to confirm the installation of their bosses.

Even JAMB knows this sitting is all for show and it's bribes that will end it. So they can as well skip all the show and give you your bribe when you're ready. You asked for it.
Bribe not given........ is exact reason why jamb registrar didn't show up and because of that, the lawmakers hide under that to reject their request to meet without media.

Our duty is to ensure every agency under our watch is accountable to Nigerians,” he said.

I laugh at the above, coming from a politician, not just a politician but the one from Nigeria. Hilarious I must say.

To make a man who only see islam as head of Jamb, an unapolegetic ethnic religious bigot who was shedding crocodile tears of deceit on National Television has a problem.

Ignoring to appear in Public to explain the tribalism, religious supremacy, nepotism and bigotry he embarked upon since he was appointed by a sharia loving president.

The religious bigot introduced a glitch by making sure that all candidates from our neigbours region failed jamb.

He should be made an Alfa in one remote islamic school in a village in ogbomosho.

I am not sure that you read the report. Smh.

That you're a lawmaker doesn’t automatically grant you security access to sensitive information let alone to the media without appropriate clearance.

Las las, JAMB will still not release the sensitive information to the media but will release it exclusively to only those members of the committee. If the sensitive information gets to the media, it is the members of the committee that will be held by D.S.S.

They think that they can intimidate the man and make him forget that he's there to represent the executive arm of government.

Now I understand why JAMB Registrar sent such an experienced Senior Officer to represent him.

Which kind of rookie legislator is this for God's sake. Just clear the media for such period requested and call the media back afterwards! It's serious business and not content creation for the media.

That legislator, Mr Obuku Oforji, must be reported for appropriate investigation and sanctioning if he breached the rights of those FG officials and intentionally wanted to embarrass JAMB.
You are writing nonsense.

Lawmakers have the right to force JAMB to release any documents they want to them, and what exactly is JAMB hiding that is a matter of National security?

Our lawmakers are a useless bunch, I agree, but this time they are right and the JAMB director was wrong.

Bello director of JAMB should be arrested as he shows the antecedents of a rude thief.

Jamb a public examination board is asking for a closed door meeting? Something very fishy is going on there.

Go and face your studies first and work hard to get to important positions in private or public career path in life next then you will know the meaning of sensitive information.

Criminal cyberbullying is not work o.
Come on Bro, I think you were enlightened used to read your comments

No need to arrest anyone.
They will be back in a few months to submit their budget.
Then we will see how that is possible without accountability.

Read it very well before commenting they said the press men should leave so the law makers can have access to the file because they have the right to have it, but not to the press people. It's the refusal of the law makers to ask the press men to leave that prompt JAMB official to leave not every information is meant for the press.

Well said, some of the problems faced in this country is not caused by government but by the people. It's just sad when one reads such comments.

Why didn’t they hold the closed session requested by the JAMB official? If the information isn’t sensitive, the media should be invited back not shut out. This whole episode shows poor judgement and reeks of amateurism. Those responsible must be held to account.

The lawmakers thinks they are kings of kings. They aren't serious at all. Everyone has right to determine what they want. How many times do lawmakers go into close section and have cameras on them.
This is the problem with people like you, you hold a public office, paid with public money, entrusted with public money, but starts forming nonsense when the public ask you how you spent their money.

What jamb director and his team did was a slap on all Nigerians..National Assembly belongs to Nigerians and whoever is elected to represent his people is holding it on trust for the people..if only our lawmakers understand it ,no body will disrespect them not even the president...but then when majority of lawmakers are jokers ,such embarrassment will keep happening....
unfortunately this is very true, majority of them are just upgraded boys and area thugs of governors and other politicians, not even formally educated.

Lawmakers can order the arrest of anyone who flouts their summon just like a court warrant
E be like say una no know say no be Abacha government una dey where the military can arrest and jail people based on their whims and caprices.

For your information:-
1. Nigeria is a free and democratic country and you can not arrest anyone for expressing one of the fundamental rights.
2. The JAMB representatives showed up based on the summons. The lawmakers insisted they wanted to see the JAMB registrar which was not a necessary because he had already sent in a representative.
3. People like you will keep pushing the lawmakers until they make huge mistakes. Same way your kind pushed Natasha until the got into muddy waters

Oga give me an example of what information JAMB, a public regulatory educational body, will have and not want the press to know?

I already know this is either about their salaries and bonuses or their expenditures...it is ok for the press to post all manner of things about what lawmakers earn and spend but these JAMB directors are all of a sudden untouchable shey??

Some of you sef, you don't think deeply about matters.

Have you already forgotten that it was because of these same oversights that we found that snakes have graduated to swallowing money in JAMB?

Why does JAMB representatives want all the press men and cameras out of the session?

How sensitive is the information they intend to share?

What is the big deal on the information that could necessitate a walk out?

I also think the members of the committee were being hostile and uncooperative. I watched the video and I think the committee members were generally using offensive languages, annoying words and threats.

If I were in the team of JAMB too, I will prefer to walk away.

There should be consultation between JAMB and House Committee representatives to discuss the need for a rescheduled under a conducive and cooperative environment without threats, abuse or negativity.

If dem born you well, when a court summons you, refuse to go or go and walk out on the court claiming democracy
A legislative House can summon anyone in their jurisdiction and have the powers to order arrests of those who disobey their summons. It's in the legislative powers and privileges act
Just because impunity reigns in Nigeria does not mean you can do anyhow

You can armtwist it the way you want but the comments up there are voices of people that have lost trust in their government to do the right thing.

The HoR are they accountable? Are they corrupt free?

Let the government fix themselves and the people will rally around them.

No,the regislative arm of the govt have no power to arrest anybody. Its not part of their job.
They should have sent their grievance to the judiciary who can interpret that action and the executive will do the arrest. That is how it should work when it involves arms of govt.
Nigeria has the principle of separation of powers. Its a pity we hardly follow the constitution.

What you see from all arms are common abuse of power we assume is part of the constitution.

In the past when you heard that National Assembly invites an Organization, either or Non Government. There will be fear among the invitees. It's no longer so because our Representatives has lost respect & Trust in them.

Just look at their presents approvals from President, nothing serious Scrutiny/Check.

President removed Subsides in almost every thing that benefits the Masses, yet Reps keeps approving LOANS to him.

As a Human will you consider such Reps as a serious Chamber.

Nope, it should not be done.

Uk for don arrest tire or America.
Cos people walking out on proceedings are normal.

The law makers in nigeria usually forget why they are elected. And they are elected to represent people. But of course, being a law maker in nigeria equals unseen powers afterall they are the highest paid in a country with the lowest per capita income and life expectancy. We fear and worship them cos of money. That is what you are doing. Worshipping them cos they are ultra rich
