Based on most responses to this question, I noticed our parents seems to have some couple of age gap, which means our fathers are mature mentally to understand and cope with their wives back then. Marriage those days was sweet, understanding, true commitment from both parties and full support. I can attest to this because my late parents are typical example.

But nowadays, you'll see an immature man just because he has gotten some dash, he feels since my relatives, cousins and mates are getting married, then I need to as well.
On the other hand, it's the girls that do rush guys just because her friends are getting married. Just because two of my foolish 'ex' friends got pregnant out of wedlock, then she begin to pressure me about marriage, someone that's still in school, she has no skills, no job.
I never allow her attitudes to move me at all.

I'm really happy about some knowledge and understanding have gotten marriage, though we can't know everything.

Your fathers were just preying on naive children that they could easily control.

I'm sure most of the time they'd belittle them into submitting to them.

She must prefer older men with more experience. Perhaps she doesn’t want to be figuring things out with people closer her age. She has her own priorities. She lived with parents twice her age, possibly has colleagues at work much older. Life choices are different

I think those age gaps were more prevalent back in the days up to the early 90s than now.

Yea.. i understand dat countries have different benchmark for eligible adult ages for their females. Our's is 18. Okay.

Dat does not mean a 15--18yr cant be already metamorphose for marriage.

Anyway, we all know dat females should be through with their studies first before marriage. A fair one. Giving the ladies an edge in critical reasoning in associations, groups, family. The only disadvantage in dis one is that they get married at old age!
