[quote author=iamoyindamola post=137294147]Joelinton is a criminal not a footballer will change until he is severely punished. He is reckless and continues to get away with it. There is no way he should be finishing games with the sort of tackles he makes. He is a serial offender and has crossed the boundary numerous times. Refs need to start sending him off immediately. Newcastle will be forced to bench him if they won’t handle it internally. |

Roland17:Dey Play! I think Eddie Howe actually encourages this style of play. Since Eddie Howe came, Joelinton has been playing like this, Bruno Guimaraese the same and a handful of their other players always try to roughen their opponents up. Joelinton used to be a normal failed attacker who didn't amount to anything before they found a way to turn him to a thug who bullies his way from middle to the front line. Agreed Joelinton may sometimes overdo his own, but most of them like to play like thugs and Eddie seem to be fine with it. I agree nothing will change except the Refs/FA start taking punitive actions against them for this kind of tackles. |

swiz123:Was Anelka a winger when he was playing beside Drogba in a 4-3-3? JP and Delap have played together this season with Palmer or Neto on the right. Which of the is a winger, JP or Delap? It's interesting you ignored the 4-4-2 example. When Sheva was playing alongside Drogba, were they both number 9s? |

Roland17:EPL refs are protecting him because he always get away with those tackles, before ref book him he must have commit 5 or more fouls |

BlueRayDick:Once the refs start to get him off the field (red card) everytime he pulls tackles like that, or anything remotely close to that, Howe will have no choice but to either address it or bench him. Except he wants to play most matches with 10 men. Like you said, Newcastle under Howe have always played on the edge of physicality but Joelinton’s have crossed the boundary severally. Howe is ok with it because the refs have not started taking strong actions. Keep in mind he does this same nonsense when he plays for Brazil. |

BlueRayDick:Omooo! The reverse is the case for me here. I can’t leave my house to watch football outside after paying that exorbitant amount as subscription. I only subscribe to watch matches and that’s even the only time I turn on my Tv. But truth be told, a successful hate watching is best enjoyed in a viewing center. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 7:58am On Oct 31, 2025 |
BlueRayDick:His description of those viewing centres is extreme. Lol. Watching football is more enjoyable when there is a crowd arguing and shouting at the top of their voices .. The adrenaline and loud roar of "gooooooooooaal" has this feeling that is second to none... And you can't experience it in the comfort of your sitting room. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 8:08am On Oct 31, 2025 |
swiz123:I used to enjoy watching matches at crowded up viewing centers like one in the tweet, but not anymore. The discomfort that comes with sitting on a bench without back rest in such poorly ventilated space will not make the match enjoyable no matter how I would've love to hate-watch rival team's matches. Some years back, my typical Saturday starts by 12:15 pm when I would've secured a back seat at the viewing center to watch the early kickoff by 12.30pm. I literally watched all matches of the day from 12.30pm to 6.30pm (And at times even till 8.00 pm). Na viewing center I go chop sef. But with time and growth, the lifestyle just wasn't want I could keep up with. Just like you, I enjoy watching these football matches in the comfort of my home snacking or drinking whatever drink I wish to. Sometimes one or two friends join me and at times I go to my friends' too. We banter about our clubs and all that. And once in a while If we feel like watching it outside, we go to modern bars with proper ventilation where no be say person blood go rise before he reach house. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueRayDick: 8:13am On Oct 31, 2025 |
timbros:Yes, his description is extreme but I think he made one major point. Those crowded kinda viewing center where they use plywood to make the wall of the viewing center and roofed it with asbestos or corrugated aluminium roofing sheets, we've all been there at one point or the other. As a very young teenager it may be enjoyable watching matches there, but at some point u will just feel uncomfortable sitting almost 2 hours there to watch a match. Now you can either watch it in your sitting room or go to an open bar/lounge where u will have to buy a bottle or two to watch the match in comfort. |
