Still this exchange rate is wrong. The XOf and XAF are almost at par
anifranklyn67:
You have to understand that the west African CFA which you are referring to is different from the CFA the poster is using which I believe is centra African CFA

With due respect let me enlighten you a little

There are two types of CFA in use in Africa:

1. The west African CFA with ISO code "XOF" and issuing authority being "BCEAO" which is in circulation in about eight African countries

2. The central African CFA with ISO code "XAF" issuing authority is "BEAC" which is in circulation in about 6countries.

You dare not spend Cameroon CFA in Benin Republic, it's practically impossible.

Hope this helps
Knowledge is like onyx, one digs deep to get it cool wink
Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by MeezPat(f): 7:58am On Oct 31, 2025
Either the central African or West African Cefa are not up to this please. The XOF and the XAF are almost at par. Therefore, I still maintain that 2000XOF or XAF cannot be 25000 naira
EDGEof2MORO:
you do realise west african CFA (like one of you posted a screeshot of) is different from central african CFA? right? I mean the man that did the exchange physically is telling you what happened in front of him and you in your bedroom are doubting. c'mon now

FULL disclosure: I was also confused when OP shared how much CFA he got at the exchange. Someone's post here reminded me we are talking about Central african CFA. I expected the poster that "researched" to put up a screenshot to at least see that there is more than one CFA on the currency exchange rate table.

Used to enjoy traveling across Naija and neighboring countries during and after my Youth service.

Those that have never travelled would never understand the thrill, fun and education of embarking on such journeys.

Sadly, Insecurity and Terrorism severely damaged and dampened my love for travelling in this country... Such a shame!!!

I know friends that narrowly escaped death while on such "tourism"... Others were not quite fortunate. embarassed

...It's a real shame what the beautiful nation and even continent have become badly reduced to due to Politics of terrorism.

Growing up back then, traveling was a must for anyone serious about understanding and learning... It is a proper form of education.

Shocking to know there are a lot of men and women in Nigeria that have never visited or stayed in more than 2 cities in their country... Smh!

Some of you even brag about being local champions in Lagos, Abuja, Benin, etc... Una no just dey shame.
Lolz! Angelfrost be calming down. That's why I love my former job driving. It has taking me to almost all part of Naija except northern states.
And also our neighbouring West Africa countries of Togo, Benin and Ghana

so you are a prisoner in Lagos? poor you
Lolz.

Ain't we all are? cheesy cheesy

Some are prisoners in London, some in America, some at their workplace, some in their household. One way or the other, we're all prisoners.

But in my own case, I'm the warden of my prison. If I decide to open the gates tomorrow, I'll be free. But for now, I'm enjoying the "prison". cheesy cheesy

Yes, he's taking risks. Over what? His personal happiness. cheesy cheesy

If there's any one thing I've learnt about life; it's that it's unpredictable. No one can tell what will happen in a few hours time. Better to live it to the fullest.

Make I burst your bubble, some people never travelled, never drank alcohol, never womanized, never smoked, always do exercise and the likes. Yet, they didn't live till old age. Wetin kill them? angry angry

I really envy the OP, I just wish I had the guts to do what he's presently doing. Fear no go let me try am. huh huh

you can not even estimate the number of people using mobile phone service subscriber count. Some people have more than 5 registered phone numbers. Some mobile numbers are registered to devices e.g. vehicle tracking software. Some of us have never owned a mobile device

Nigeria is not up to 200 million. That number is around 100 million or less
Mobile registrations are only one method to get a hint. There are many methods which even include population estimation by satellite images. The population of Nigeria is not estimated only by census. International bodies have sound technical ways of estimating it and many such bodies estimate us at 230 million.

What about the voters register, it's entirely fake as well?

What about NIN. Do you know 126 Million have been registered so far?

What about BVNs, do you know it's over 60 million as of this year?

There are many pointers that we are FAR over a hundred million.

i dont understand, you change 200 usd to 25,000 cfa? But 1 usd is equal to about 570 CFA which means you should be getting nothing less than 110,00 cfa. i thin you were cheated

From gamboru I changed 200 usd to twenty five thousand cefa stamped .y passport for three thousand cefa....then took a bike to kousiri (3 hours) by bike omo. Dust cover me like mad 😠

Adventure is not in the DNA of a black man... only few black people has it like Op.. kudos to him. Real adventure belongs to the Caucasian race.

Have been to almost all states in Nigeria despite insecurity just for the thrill.

Official rate most times is not the same as the reality. Those exchange people don't follow the official rate, and unless you have another option, you are definitely at their mercy.

Nasarawa to Adamawa too far for me!

My grandma died, I didn't attend her funeral because of the fear of travelling. When my wife's grandma died afterwards, nobody bothered to stress me because they knew I wouldn't travel.

Even to travel home for Sallah, I no dey try am.

I used to enjoy travelling before, but insecurity and all the unpalatable stories have made me detest it. 7 years running, I never comot for Lagos.

Here's someone living his dream!

#Covers_Face.

See as north empty. Reminds me of my journey to so many northern states many years ago. Most part of the north is so empty, arid and large you just begin to wonder how these people became so power hungry and how they manage to have this born to rule mentality. Like you wonder where the hell they came from among those emptiness. Road travel is so much fun tho
If you are talking about the north, be specific about which part or which state of the north you are referring to.

Just like, we can't just lump the whole south together when talking about a happening in any state there.
For instance, if something happens in Lagos, we don't say " the south" .
We mention which place it occurs?

Why is the case different when for instance Yobe state is involved & everybody lump the whole north into it?

There is a distinctive difference between Sudan and South Sudan.

Sudan separated into both nations after years of internal conflicts.

Sudan is the larger Muslim-dominated nation.

Well, South Sudan is not fully peaceful anyway, but never as insecure and volatile as its former Northern part.

Just no understand why graduates will be so comfy sticking around their 'Papa house'.

Some people have lived for years in states that they never visited at least 2 LGAs even close to their cities.

That's why a lot of Nigerian youths have little to no idea about the state or happenings in their country apart from the half-truths being dished out by their news media.

The Nigerian economy is really nosediving. $200 equals CFA 25,000 which is also equivalent of NGN300,000.

Of course, you can based on the kind of environment you find yourself, so simple. It is all about probability.

Better to live it to the fullest.
