It is being implemented in more than 150 countries. What is the ratio of patients to doctors in those countries? What is the minimum wage in those countries? How much do they pay teachers in those countries? Do they owe teachers, doctors and other professionals in those countries? Do their politicians steal mindlessly in those countries? |

Sir Your statement is vague. If u gave a standard point where strengthening of naira is defined then we can now look that whether its true or not. Everything is relative unless a benchmark is in place. This explanation of yours has no substances. Just say you want to tax. Again why are so many policies coming up within a short time which is too quick for us to know which is working well for the economy and which isn't |

Bobloco:Just telling lies and lies. How many times would govt use ''road maintenance'' as excuse to increase fuel price? The same road and infrastructure maintenance was one of the reasons the govt gave when they removed subsidy from fuel, with the govt saying the savings would be used to maintain and build more roads and infrastructure. This Taiwo Oyedele would destroy his own reputation with the way he is going about defending the indefensible because of these tax laws |

Tax! Tax!! Tax!!! Benin Asaba road is gone. Bida Road is a no go area Calabar Itu Road is in a sorry state Makurdi To Ogoja hmmmmm. Not to talk of the insecurity on the roads. Travelling from Lagos to Abuja by road is with serious prayer. As kidnapping is now rampant. |

That is not a good economics indices.. you should do things because they are right... They should simply say until old refineries are privatized.. that sounds much better. Naira will not gain might.. this is the main reason NB. The FG continuous source for FX with aim to pay and service debt has now almost equal the same amount naija business people source for FX for importation of raw materials.... So until FG stops excess loan borrowing and debt servicing, naira will never breathe |
| Re: Fuel Tax Won’t Begin Until Naira Appreciates, Oil Price Falls — Oyedele by mikeapollo: 9:25am On Oct 31, 2025 |
Bobloco:The moment he made that reckless statement ''subsidy is gone, whether you like it or not'' at the inauguration ground, and how he floated the naira all of a sudden (without any serious consultation or background work), I realized we are in big trouble with this govt. Their main focus is to raise revenue by whatever means and spend on their vaunted, poorly conceived projects and policies, rather than prudent management of the economy. |

When will the naira strengthen or crude oil prices drop and also, what policies are being put in place to strengthen the naira and when shall we start seeing the positive effects since we're already two years into this administration ? |

This policy is very premature, I don't know who is advising PBAT. Why is the president bend on making more money to the government, the tax burden on the masses is way out of reach. How many refineries do we have, why can the government make other refinery work then bring up this Tax policies |
| Re: Fuel Tax Won’t Begin Until Naira Appreciates, Oil Price Falls — Oyedele by mikeapollo: 9:52am On Oct 31, 2025 |
Phred1717:It is because he is just clueless, hence he thinks only enacting policies and taxing people to generate more revenue would be the solution. A govt that would rush to spend N16trillion on an emergency new road that would take more than 5 years to complete, while several existing major roads are totally gone and impassable for motorists in all parts of the country. |

This Oyedele guy is tackling the economic situation from the back door. There is no practical and realistic solution from many of the innovative approaches. When are we going to experience oil prices coming down, and to what extent before the fuel tax becomes effective? When will the naira exchange gets better and by what measure? When people claim they know too much, they end up destroying what is left of a sinking nation. Yeye dey smell. |

| Re: Fuel Tax Won’t Begin Until Naira Appreciates, Oil Price Falls — Oyedele by FrancisIgya: 11:17am On Oct 31, 2025 |
When the fuel tax eventual comes into effect with naira appreciation , what will follow next will be reports of financial embezzlements that will serve to undermine construction of roads in the country. At the end, not much will be achieved. |
