Hey, my application was put under review required three weeks ago. I found out after contacting IRCC. I requested my GCMS notes and received them yesterday. The case analyst made several mistakes on my application. 1. The marriage date is indeed July 16, as stated on the statutory marriage certificate on file. She even confirmed the document is included. 2. My Canadian work experience letter clearly states 33 hours per week from the start, but the officer noted 20 hours per week. Also, officers are not authorized to determine employment requirements for non-professional or skilled trade positions. 3. I believe the foreign work experience has already been accepted. Do you think it’s okay to submit a webform before the senior officer makes a final decision to point out these mistakes? In another note, she confirmed 1,647 hours from the paystubs, acknowledged up to August, but disregarded November, December, and January to April–July, which totals 1 year and 7 months. I believe the contested points is 90 points. 40 for 1 year cec 50 ( bonus point for skill transferability when you have both cec and foreign work experience). Kindly note that the 3 pages are the officers note as it appeared on the page gcms notes received. |

Please I put 48 hours per week for work experience for express entry pool profile, but in my work reference 40 hours per week is there..... Will this be an issue? |
| Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Ontarioo: 7:43am On Oct 31, 2025 |
Nemmie:The standard is at least 30 hours a week. |

Nemmie:Get your employer to give you another reference letter with the number of hours you have on your profile. |

Legacyedition:. How true is that? Are you really saying someone can be hired as a Mental Health Support Worker (NOC 42201) without the required education and the officer can’t question it? Especially now, when so many people are buying or faking jobs just to claim Canadian work experience? |

IRCC is doing everything to please the French-speaking Quebecois. I honestly don’t understand how French is considered such a major skill ..... but what do I even know? Learning French is the best option right now for anyone who isn’t in healthcare, doesn’t fall under CEC, Trades, or Education with current CRS at 490. Times are getting tougher these days, and fewer provinces are conducting PNP draws

Legacyedition:Yes..... it’s absolutely okay (and advisable) to submit a webform before the senior officer makes a final decision, especially since your GCMS notes clearly show factual errors that could directly affect your eligibility and CRS points. Reference your evidence but don’t re-upload documents unless requested as it will look like you are trying to change something in your application. The goal is to ensure the senior officer catches and corrects these before refusal which we do not look forward to but............... can someone be hired as a Mental Health Support Worker (NOC 42201) without the required education? https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/NOCProfile?code=42201&version=2021.0 for Mental Health Support Worker (NOC 42201) I think a college or university program in social work, child and youth care, or another related social science field is typically required you see the first point is where the issue is the way its worded Previous work experience in a social service environment as a volunteer or in a support capacity may replace formal education requirements for some occupations in this unit group You see, that may be what the officer is looking at. The first point states it clearly.... the reason is that for the Mental Health Support Worker (NOC 42201) position, you need to have related education. That’s the only issue here. Look at it this way: out of the three employment requirements for this NOC, you only partially meet point 2. So that’s 1out of 3, which makes it hard to claim that point. However, if you were a Social Service Worker and a member of a provincial regulatory body, that would give you 2 out of 3, making your claim stronger.

Sheron50:Lolz. Certificate is nothing to oyinbo. You need just ability to perform your job. There's also something called skill tranferability. Also I already worked as a support worker in a different organization for 1 year. Just to let you know. The information on the nocs are not determinative. This is based on ircc own training manual for their officers obtained by Steve meurrens via access to information. You can read a training manual below.

amnotapervert:Thanks for your input. I will just send them a webform. Mental health support worker isn't social work. This is a support role. They are different. Mandatory certificates are Occupational First aid, whmis, crisis de-escalation. My company has 1k + employees. You can count less than 50% that has high school certificate. We have about 40 managers. I am aware of 6 that didn't finish high school. My manager and senior managers only has high school certificate. The actual and major requirement is knowing how to read, write and use computers. Requirements on noc are not determinative according to ircc pr training manual below.

Legacyedition:Well, I live in Canada and actually work in that sector and let’s be clear, most reputable organizations here would never hire anyone for a mental health support worker position without proper certification. So please keep that narrative for the quacks, not for me. That’s probably why the officer is doubting your job it sounds like a dummy position or a cloned reference letter, which we see happening far too often these days. |
| Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by amnotapervert(m): 8:31pm On Oct 31, 2025 |
Legacyedition:I genuinely wish you all the best, but based on the details provided, you only meet one out of the three employment requirements listed for this position. FYI When you share information here, please make sure to state your source. https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/NOCProfile?code=42201&version=2021.0 The officer’s concern is likely that you do not have: (1) A college or university program in social work, child and youth care, psychology, or another social science or health-related discipline, or (2) Membership in a provincial regulatory body, which is required in some provinces. They can see that you’re not specialized in the field you’re working in. Someone who is specialized would typically meet at least two out of the three requirements ....yet you’re working as a Mental Health Support Worker (NOC 42201). That inconsistency raises questions. Remember, this is a category-based draw, not a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw. The officer wants to confirm that you truly qualify under the category you’ve selected, and that’s where your challenge lies. That mindset of “everyone has a high school diploma” doesn’t really apply here. In Canada, you’re applying for Permanent Residency (PR)...you’re being assessed differently. We all know some jobs can be used as a stepping stone, but for category-based draws, the focus is on whether your education and work experience align with the occupation category, not just that you have work experience in it.

Legacyedition:WTF, I don’t even live in Brampton ...are you trying to shade me? You do not want to start this You quickly changed the previous statement you made how funny of you... very sniky You see, the problem is that you don’t understand the Express Entry round type you’re applying for. The information you stated applies to the general Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) requirements, which are different from a category-based draw. You’re applying under the Healthcare and Social Services occupations category, specifically NOC 42201 – Mental Health Support Worker. As I mentioned befor...and that still stand...this is a category-based draw, not a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw or the general Federal Skilled Worker stream. The officer wants to confirm that you genuinely qualify under the category you selected, and that’s where your challenge lies. General Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) checks you have work experience does not care what it is for the most part. Canadian Experience Class (CEC) checks if you have work exprience in Canada does not care what it is for the most part. Category-based checks if you have work and qualification ( school) experience in that Categoty or you belong to a professional body in that Categoty. in this case you only have work experience which is not enought. |

amnotapervert:Thanks for being objective at this time. Okay I am going to give you more info. There's no specific section you apply under healthcare, trade , French or other categories in the express entry system. You input your noc and you get invited based on the draw or category draw. The system would only show you are qualified under cec . It won't mention any category to you. I hope this is clear. My application is under cec. category is how you are invited not an application type. Thanks for being objective at this time. Attached below is also a response from rcic. ( regulated immigration consultant). They had one year training on Canada immigrations before being allowed to practice.

Legacyedition:Wait, wasn’t it Healthcare and Social Services occupations you got your ITA under? Go over my profile.... I’ve always advocated for people to contact licensed immigration consultants, and it’s good that you did. As I said from the start, I genuinely wish you all the best. But you showed a poor attitude by bringing up where I supposedly live. For the record, I do not live in Brampton. And for your information, the average house price in Brampton was approximately $909,448 as of July. So before you try to shame anyone from Brampton, you might want to think twice. You’d be better off upgrading your skills, because with a mental health support job, you won’t be able to afford the kind of house you’re looking down on simply because it’s in Brampton. Otherwise, you’ll likely remain a renter for the rest of your life. |

amnotapervert . It seems you quoted what I wrote on another person's quote. Brampton statement isn't about you. Seems you quoted the post I made on someone else post. You've been objective from onset. Kindly confirm this from your end. Brampton post was never directed at you.

Legacyedition:I understand your fear and frustration becos living in Canada for over three years without getting PR can make anyone desperate. But that still doesn’t justify posting your GCMS notes online for sympathy while refusing to face reality. Let’s be honest: no reputable healthcare organization would ever employ someone as a mental health worker without proper education or certification something even the officer himself is fully aware of. And the link you’re posting doesn’t eliminate that requirement for jobs inside Canada. The officer is doubting your job because, if it were actually genuine and met the standard requirements, it wouldn’t be raising these red flags in the first place. And frankly, even with your so-called “job,” you couldn’t afford half of my mortgage. You can call others whatever you like, but fake job offers and unethical tactics to get PR aren’t new. With over 2.8 million temporary residents in Canada yourself included it’s a known fact that nearly 70% will never get PR. And the fact that you’re talking down about Brampton and it good somebody inform you about the cost to own a property in that area, only shows the level of your reasoning. |

Sheron50:I understand living in Brampton could make someone think everything is about fra..d . Lolz. The bank is your landlord. Not everyone is buying the housing bubbles. I have the job since 2023 . Officer confirmed employment details on file. Noc 42201 was just added to health care category in February/march 2025 that's 6-7 months ago and that was when the category changed to healthcare and social work from " healthcare". Maybe you missed the point where the case analyst called the attention of the senior officer to "rule 9" on my previous TR ( don't miss it) Applications. Rule 9 mean someone who had gone to court in the past for judicial review. FYI, 42201 isn't under health care but social work. You need to understand there's a difference between mental health support worker and mental health nurse or psychiatrist. Immigration system is about law, it's not emotion. Maybe you know more than the rcic then. Lolz. I will update you on the application. I know more than 10 people that studied MBA and got their PR already with same job and they are still there cos the pay is good. The screenshot shows the first pay on the job cause you assumed and spoke with confidence to call it arranged job. Lolz. Company that i sent cv almost every weeks for 16 months. You can see the average two weeks take home after tax. I earn 6 digits annually on that job. Canada isn't just about Ontario okay. Brampton doesn't represent the whole of the country. Have a good one bro. |

Legacyedition:Dear brother or sister. In theory you are right - For General Draws, we do not need to meet the education requirements of our NOC For CBD specifically - the VO is within their right to ask for education - one reason may be that people are taking advantage of the short period required minimum WE of 6 months in the last 3 years. Secondly, to be fair to IRCC they did mention in the details of the CBD page that education will be one of the determinants (red circle). That is what the good people who have responded are trying to tell you. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/rounds-invitations/category-based-selection.html If I were you I would not wait for a decision like InfoPlace Canada say. I will address each point raised in the GCMS IMMEDIATELY! Read it carefully. All the best.

SlimazLee:Let me tell you something Nothing good comes cheap and Moving abroad is expensive that already said Take it slow and do it step by step. First get your CRS points so you can get invited and receive an ITA. If a family member can gift you $15,263 to show proof of funds (POF), that helps...but IRCC only accepts real, non-repayable gifts that are already in your bank account. The donor should put it in writing that it’s a gift (not a loan), and you should keep the gift letter and transfer receipts. Leave the money in your account for a few weeks or months before you submit your PR application (e-APR) so it looks stable. Explain to IRCC about the large deposit, explain it in a Letter of Explanation and attach the gift documents. Don’t move the money back and forth ...it just causes questions. Alot of people do this with the little money they have saved https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html Just focus get your ITA first, then handle POF ...one step at a time its well. No country is perfect Canada has a lot of problem but you are doing this for your self and your family

Legacyedition:Certificate and education requirements are highly considered in category-based draws. However, since you’re already in Canada, a senior visa officer may still approve your profile after review, based on your valid job offer and verified work experience with a reputable Canadian organization. The refusal note attached applies to an outlander applicant.
