What this post won't tell you is the sheer amount of time, mental stamina and space, as well as PASSION needed to venture and excel in these fields.

Rushing into such fields without doing your due diligence will lead to waste of funds, time and even more despair.

I have seen people rush into Cybersecurity and even DevOps just out of the sole aim to "land great jobs", and ended up leaving barely midway when they got overwhelmed with the technical demands in every stage.


The truth?!! They are great career areas, but solely for the mentally capable and passionately resilient.


Look for your area of strength, find out how well you can create value there, and grow in it...!

You make me remember my guy back then in futa Industrial Design dept. He was busy molding clay pot in 500level.

That list is highly questionable.

1) Biomedical engineering - big sounding name, but limited job opportunities. Sounds like one of those courses that boxes you into a corner in the job market. If you cant get a job in that specific field, you are done. Better to study mechanical engineering.

2) Why on earth would someone go to university to study game development in 2025? That person is heading for unemployment.

3) Don't waste your time spending 4 years studying cyber security at a university. Go for computer science or engineering and then do certifications in cyber security.

Also be weary of any course that is classified as 'good for the future'. That's because nobody knows the future. Things change so fast.

I agree with most part of your assertions, but mechanical engineering is in no way related to biomedical engineering. Most of the medical devices and facilities you see in hospitals and other medical settings are manufactured by biomedical engineers, this is outside the scope of mechanical engineering.

If you have the opportunity or privilege to relocate abroad, you'll understand how futuristic they are.
