Complicated headline abi confusing title! I was active with some of the listed stuffs, and only heard about some without seeing them. Maybe because i was a very sensitive child, so am not completely unaware of dem. I read too much TELL-magazine alot too as a child, so i saw those graphics/pictures. |

I spent most holidays at her villa and enjoyed the free units that was ascribed to workers.. 2. Floppy Disc. I bought my first PC in 2002. Cost me about 2000 US dollars equivalent. Needless to say my PC had no USB drive.. 3. I had a passion for short stories and instead of writing I preferably typed them on a small typewriter I collected from my aunt in 1998. A portable Royal piece in a small box that I could conveniently carry about and feel like a diplomat 4. In 1997 while in high school I was promised a film Camera by an older cousin in Belgium. Despite all the anticipation it never arrived. I eventually bought mine in 2002. A brown kodak that took some pics that I still possess 5. My first CD was the R Kelly Album TP2.com. I bought it in 2001 on the Streets of Yaoundé for 2000frs CFA. I can still sing every tune on that plate. 6. A cassette tape is what we grew up with. Everyone born in 1979 listened to it while growing up.. 7. Turn tables was how we refered to the radio sets that played the vinyl tapes. Our first Naija VHS was Jaguar, then Lynx of a lady Awa who died and resurrected.. 11. I first used the Internet in the year 2000 in the town of Yaoundé at the World Bank library. Each participant had 30 free minutes of fast satellite connection. Around town though most Cyber Cafes offered dial-up. By 2006 I had home Internet and it was dialup 12. My aunt as a telecom worker had hundreds of free minutes of phone call. We would sometimes go through her phone book telephone directory dial random numbers and say trash... 13. I wonder how post offices make their money these days. In the 90's I had a penpal in the UK and mailed my first post card 14. Form Five Geography lessons came with Map reading as a topic that carried 30 marks for the GCE. 1994 we used a paper map while on a field trip to scroll around a small town we visited 15.
