| Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by Kingsasian(m): 9:02pm On Oct 31, 2025 |
WhizdomXX:In Udu. Taraba is good, how is Warri |
| Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by WhizdomXX(m): 9:07pm On Oct 31, 2025 |
Kingsasian:Yeah of course, I mistook it for the roundabout. Warri is okay, lot of constructions around the PTI/DSC/Enerhen axis. Although you know the normal strife for main Warri now. How is Taraba like? I have a friend from there, he says they grow good yams but Fulani attacks sometimes threaten his village. From my map it looks like a mountainous region. |

WhizdomXX:Actually, the last time I visited Warri was a year ago, the place is really going through a phase. Taraba is like most northern areas. I reside in the Jalingo, the capital city, which is a less developed place as well but very calm with constant electricity. Yes, the yams are very good and affordable too, it pains me that there is no direct transport to Warri from here, if not my parents for no dey lack yams and rice. Most parts of the state is surrounded by mountains which also leads to Cameroon. As a matter of fact my parents fell in love with the scenery when they visited me about 4 years ago because we are surrounded by beautiful mountains. As for Fulani attacks, it is minimal here because the villagers who are farmers are very stubborn, the Fulani people are scared. The farmers don't only defend themselves they also attack too |

| Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by WhizdomXX(m): 11:59am On Nov 01, 2025 |
Kingsasian:Alright, I should visit someday and likely explore the mountains too. What route do you follow? And yes my friend said they usually engage the gunmen fire for fire but sometimes they still plunder their farms. |

Emeka71:Yes, I just saw this. Also he mentioned losses. |
| Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by Kingsasian(m): 12:31pm On Nov 01, 2025 |
WhizdomXX:yes they do plunder their farms but not as easy as they usually do to farmers from other states. As for the route, there are two ways, before the era of the Warri-Itakpe trains, I usually travel to Onitsha, from there you can get vehicles going to any part of the country. With the train, when I get to Itakpe, I go to Abuja (I usually stay a day or two with my siblings who live there) then I board to the central park to board a vehicle to Taraba. |

Kingsasian:pls help me ask ur wife how marriage is done over there...how does the list look like |
| Re: My Journey To South Sudan By Road. by Kingsasian(m): 10:19am On Nov 02, 2025 |
saintkel:they are more considerate. The list is not that much (you buy a few items for the parents and the lady). Then a few crates of drinks, kola, sweet (candies) two or three bags of salt, nothing much like that. I was the only one who went to collect the list because other members of my family live very far away. The Northerners are very simple people. The " Traditional wedding" which is called "Introduction" is done within the confines of the lady's compound without the usual noise and party that is associated with the Southerners. Just show up with your family, show the items which are already displayed for her family and friends to see, fix a date for the "white" wedding, introduction Don finish, not more than 2 hours. No party, no music, just light entertainment depends on your pocket sha. |
