Yes, it's not the same. There has been no bonding by the wife to the child of any kind

On the other hand, there's been deep bonding by the man to the kids. So much emotional invested has been made that the children look up to him as "daddy."

A man from that side can claim child/children from a single mother whom bride price has not been paid.

Once he pays the bride price, he is considered the father of those children in igbo culture even though he didn't father them biologically.

To me, women from that side won't see anything wrong with paternity fraud since all children are same to their family including those kidnapped or bought from baby factory.

As long as the child calls you father/mother, you're good to go.

But when it comes to women drinking the water use to wash her late husband or if women are omitted from inheritance....you will remember that it's an archaic tradition

That’s a really sensitive topic. 💔 While paternity fraud is absolutely wrong, abandoning an innocent child doesn’t solve anything the child didn’t ask to be in that situation. The real issue is accountability and justice for the deception, not punishing the kid.

Men deserve legal protection in such cases, but children deserve care and love no matter how they came into the world. Both sides need fairness and empathy here. 🙏
