Nobody collected $1.2m for Kebbi stadium – Shehu DikkoP

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, has said that nobody in the commission received the $1.2 million from the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, for the Kebbi stadium project.


Dikko made this rebuttal on Friday while responding to questions in an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST.

DAILY POST recalls that former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, had made damning allegations, accusing the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, of pocketing $1 million from FIFA.

Reacting, Dikko said: “Nobody collected the $1.2 million for the Kebbi stadium because FIFA manages the project directly.

“It’s FIFA that appointed the consultant, the contractor, and will pay the contractors directly.

“The job of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in this kind of instruction is to provide the land and say this is what we want.

“At the end of the day, it is FIFA that will appoint their consultants, go through the process, appoint their contractors and pay them directly.”

What people are seeing is that such stadium is too cheap for N1.5bn or N1.7bn. Whatever you all spent on it, state it and let people value it if it's worth it.
FIFA can't stoop so low and build such secondary school sports centre.

Funy enough, the APC are still not anywhere better than PDP. It's practically some PDP old heads masquerading as APC, nothing changes.

They must have collected all the money from the contractor as settlement and now they contractor will take the heat.

Make Peter Obi no put mouth oh before the will put the blame on him and ask him how many stadium did he construct in Anambra.

FIFA is also corrupt.

We all read the stories of how they took millions as bribe for hosting Rights. We all read how they paid Michel Platini millions in Consultancy Fees, Joseph Blatter was banned if I remember correctly.

Amos Adamu only joined in the feast before his eyes when he was with FIFA.

This Stadium building thing, they all made money from it. From FIFA Consultants in Switzerland to the Nigerians that procured the Land and provide other logistics, they all had something to do with that fraud of a Stadium they built.

Fifa is not building a stadium in Kenya, and the said stadium in Kenya costs at least 250 million dollars.

There are so many of them here on Nairaland. That Stadium they claimed FIFA built in Kenya is nothing less than $400m.

That said, FIFA itself is also corrupt, they all receive bribes before voting during Hosting Rights are usually given to country.

We read how so many of them collected $10m each for the hosting of the one of the World Cup. Sepp Blatter was unceremoniously removed, Michel Platini was paid millions for Consultancy work and banned from Football for a while.

The same FIFA that is shouting corruption won't allow for any Government to touch any officials of home Association in any probe.

Although this news has been a pain in the ass though, but I'm not sure FIFA itself has spoken on the issue and if they have I'm not sure they supported the allegations.
FIFA should tell us if it's true that the project is handled by them or by NFA.
The reason is because I know FIFA too to have a keen agreement with Africa corrupt style.

So who is deceiving who?

My problem with your type of person, remains the fact that dwelling in negative narratives even when there's clarification that Kenya government build their stadium with $350m ,you continue to write rubbish!
