I built my own search engine. It's my take on what I think an AI first search engine should look and feel like. Try out different questions and queries on it and tell me what you think. Share screenshots and what you asked it. Feedbacks and suggestions are appreciated.👍

The search engine usually shows LOADING when you search since it's usually boots up a bit. After five to ten seconds, it should display your results so please be patient

It's "ok"

I don't think I want to give a review. It's a personal project not a business one met to compete with the likes of Google search

It wasn't meant to compete with Google or other search engines. It's a different category doing it's own thing.

What you’ve built is clean, but let’s be honest: this isn’t an AI search engine.
It’s a front-end interface that forwards prompts to ChatGPT.
Until it has its own indexing, ranking, or data retrieval pipeline, it’s not fundamentally different from typing the same question into ChatGPT itself.

A real AI-first search engine needs actual search infrastructure things like a crawler, a vector database, document embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, or at least some form of custom ranking logic.
Without any of that, your system isn’t ‘searching’ anything; it’s just generating responses.

There’s nothing wrong with building a wrapper as a prototype, but calling it a search engine is misleading because it doesn’t gather, process, or rank information independently.
Right now, the intelligence is entirely outsourced to OpenAI’s model, and the only thing that’s yours is the UI layer

No, an AI first search engine is a generative engine that generates instead of searching. And it's is an AI search engine, it's not misleading in anyway. This is the true definition of what AI browsing should look like. You don't even understand, AI creates not rank, it's not Google for crying out loud.

So you think an AI search engine should be exactly like Google and blindly copy them in every way? It's going to take a new form, a new UI/UX and presentation not a list of links. You need to go back and read the simple definition of a search engine.
