Gumi has a point....about trump politics..

But let be honest...Nigerians of all faiths are victims of the same violence..

Calling it Christian genocide is misleading..our fight is against insecurity..not each other
You people can only deceive the gullibles, we know the killings is long term plan by Nigerian northern elites to eradicate Christians and occupy their lands with terrorists fulanis, we are also fully aware all Buhari's efforts to establish fulanis settlement in all local government areas in the country which was also part of the agenda. If the ruga agenda was successful, fulanis would have been launching attacks from those settlements , northern elites are bunch of conspirators and hypocrites

Yes, you are right by saying that a religious motivated violence exists..

Some attacks, especially in the middle beit and some Parts of north have target Christian communities...

But the larger truth ( which you and l know very well) is that whether by boko haram , ISWAP,or armed bandit-- effects both Christians and Muslim..

These groups often attack villages indiscriminately for territory, ransom or power not purely for religion...

This is what l meant by saying not one sided religion..

A consultant that was engaged by the Nigerian government stated clearly that there is Christian genocide.
The CAN chairman also claims there is Christian genocide.

I'm satisfied with their conclusions. There is definitely Christian genocide

Most useless article of the year..

Why would you pamper terrorist and expect international community to clap for you ?, as if that was not enough, APC officials are busy comparing the victims based on religious lines, instead of fixing the security of the country..

Nigeria is a failed country and should not be existing..
Kpai and leave Nigeria abeg. Western slave!!! Insecurity in Nigeria is about the killing of human beings. Christians are killed so also Muslims. Those ones that were killed in Borno state for many years were they Christians?

Trump threatened to invade the terrorists? Would he shield out the Christian’s there? How would they do it?? Trump knows what he’s doing .

I understand why you believe that ,especially when respected people Say it..

So,yes, Christians are among the victims , but Muslims have also been slaughtered by the same violent networks..

So calling "Christian genocide ' in my View , it seems trump's statement overstates the religious side of Nigeria's insecurity..

No, Trump did not overstate the fact.
A major proof being that it is only Muslim terrorists that negotiate with government with their weapons still by their side.
Another point is that it is only Muslim terrorists that are considered REPENTANT, and absorbed into the army. Can you imaginehuh

There is definitely Christian genocide. Thanks to Trump

There is a genocide in Benue Plateau Taraba by Fulani militias

The objective is to evict the occupants and replace them

Yes there are many other killings in Nigeria but they are different and separate

E.g
Boko Haram
Armed Robbers
Dangote Trucks
Snake Bite

The specific killings in Benue where the killers come at night and wipe out an entire village including very young children is genocidal in character and almost always involves Fulani herdsmen against Christians

We cannot airbrush that

Now personally I do not think that being Muslim would have saved them because the motivation is land and ethnic but it is still genocide. However the victims identify as Christians and that must be acknowledged

I am not an ideologue and I try to be objective
FYi I'm neither a Muslim nor a Christian but when I comment of Palestinian issues I am called a Muslim terrorist

Anyway I think it is not honest to categorise all killings as the same
What is being called banditry in the NW has a very different character, intention and logistics from what is happening in Benue Plateau
The failure of the federal government to enforce antigrazing laws only creates suspicion and breeds conspiracy theories

When you put into context the history of Northern Nigeria and jihad as well as clear maltreatment of Christians you understand why people say some things

Again personally I do not think Nigeria can survive if we don't get rid of this Sharia and open grazing. The country will break

You have raised some valid points...but it is important we look at the full picture ...
The truth is , while the violence in.different regions may have different roots..

They are all symptoms of one national failure..weak governance and lack of justice..

The issue is not shariah or open grazing by themselves..

But the failure to apply one law equally to everyone..

Shariah only applies to Muslims in personal matters and shouldn't override the constitution...

What nigeria needs is fairness , rule of law and leader who treats every citizen equally... Not fear of religion or ethnicity if we fix that...unity will be natural...

Well if you are honest the full picture is that we never agreed to be one nation. The Britiish forced us together and at independence we negotiated a particular type of constitution
When you say Sharia only applies in personal matters I ask are you insulting my intelligence? Is that some kind of cheap Taqqiya
If you are going to lie in my face what is the point? It is personal matters and you have Sharia police ? Sharia courts sentencing people for blasphemy to death?

After the civil war the Northern elite dominated the military and used that to push a one sided agenda to favour the Northern elite and escalate Sharia in the constitution beyond what we agreed at independence

Whilst favouring Northern elite they neglected the ordinary people

So indicators like illiteracy, child marriage are very high in the north

We in the south feel this is a consequence of choice and we no longer want to pay the price

I do not want to live in a country with people who have the mindset of the Northern Muslim especially Fulani
I ask myself what do I gain from Fulani and the answer is nothing
I am tired of argument let us just split since Sharia is so important to them
Re: Northern Elites Reacts To Trump's Blacklisting Nigeria by OBA2503: 8:16am On Nov 03, 2025
Let us forget whatever name the Americans or the Western world want to call it - Christian genocide or whatever.
But, the fact remains that human lives and property are being lost in the north (and sub-Saharan Africa) at a rate that no sane human being around the world will just ignore.

The reality is that the Nigerian government and its Military are highly stretched and struggling to contain the break out of violence in the north.
From Boko Haram, ISWAP, Fulani Herders, Banditry, Kidnapping....the list goes on to ESN/UGM,IPOB in the south.

This does not take away the fact that the American government is complicit in the instability in the region having also played a role in allowing terrorism and insecurity to be unleashed in sub-Saharan Africa. From the ousting of the Libyan dictator to their ineffective Military base stationed in Niger, the USA, France and other Western intervention has not helped to stem/quell the tide of insecurity in the Sahel.

President Trump calling out the Nigerian government is a good and not so good event.
It is good becomes it sheds light on a lingering issue that is costing loss of lives and property with no sight of a lasting solution. This also forces the government to become accountable, to tackle the issue appropriately and provide a lasting solution.

It's not so good because this issue will eventually be politicized and used as a bargaining tool for other high level deals.

Lastly, the financers, the religious evil men and politicians instigating this violence should know that God himself has heard the cries of the righteous and their names are numbered. Whether they like it or not, peace will return to the Middle-belt and northern parts of the country and Nigeria will experience unprecedented progress and development.

The cycle is complete and the end is nigh.
I am fully in support of the US government supporting the efforts of the FG to tackle and bring to an end this madness that started since 1999 when Obasanjo (all in the quest for power) ignorantly conceded to allow Sharia Law to be passed in the northern part of Nigeria. This was the beginning of religious intolerance and extremism which must be revoked and stamped out in a secular state like Nigeria.

Are we ready to tell ourselves the truth?

So your Govt knew this?, imagine the myopic & shallow reasoning coming from you once again. Was Libyan Govt aware when the US was transporting money to the rebels against their Govt?.
