Nigeria has not appointed new ambassadors to replace the ones recalled in September 2023, leading to a significant diplomatic gap.

While a list of potential nominees has been circulated and some, like former Lagos Deputy Governor Femi Pedro and former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, have reportedly been cleared, official appointments and confirmation are pending.
