Viral pictures of Youth Empowerment Programme of the Chairman of Roni LGA, in Jigawa state

The X post from Nigerian blog @instablog9ja
showcases photos of a "Youth Empowerment Programme" in Roni LGA, Jigawa State, where elderly men receive basic items like wheelbarrows loaded with jerrycans, organized by APC Chairman Dr. Abba Ya'u.

Despite the label, recipients appear predominantly senior citizens, prompting viral ridicule in replies for the irony and failure to target actual youth with meaningful skills or education.

The event highlights recurring critiques of Nigerian local government initiatives, where low-cost distributions of manual labor tools substitute for sustainable development, amassing over 49,000 views and 249 replies in hours.

This is a complete disaster of a leadership! Tueh!

Then he is even a joke, and the biggest of the fools standing. True leader should know what his followers need and deserve, and not just what they ask for in their ignorance and corruption? BTW, who wants omolanke instead of a public portable water supply?

SamuraiXXX:
Take it or leave it some omolanke operators who run their business in popular markets make over 100K a month compared to you who is struggling to make 60K from a business where you invested N6 million! grin
That's the forum's spirit and I like that (bolded in your comment). That event (https://www.nairaland.com/8544313/50-60k-monthly-returns-6m-business#137198626) is where I will be starting from in my compelled response to you, as I also try to mentor you like a father.
Updates: that business actually returned a little above 120k at the end of October, with some promise of something better in the coming months. Should be 150k but I have decided to increase my staff pay by 10k, and also remove some 20k to support some miscellaneous in the business. My niece (staff) has found out some of the possible reasons for our low returns and we are addressing them. 1. Is poor adverts: even though our prices are the lowest, our potential customers are really not aware, and we are addressing that. 2. We are cutting down on unnecessary use of generator. The very little effort I have made to address this challenges has significantly improved sales and return in the past month, and we are looking for to better days.
The business will certainly continue to grow. I know this because 1. most of the senior people who are into it before me has confirmed that fact to me, and 2. I am not losing anything but rather growing my gains little-by-little. With these facts, I am confident that this is an empowerment I can fall back to in a near future (when I am much older) and a stable investment that I can hand over to the generation that will follow me (my children) by God's grace.

Now read that bolded statement again. If the omolanke operators can confidently say that too, then they have also made good choices for their current and future outlook, and that of their children. I mean, as empowered by their chosen leader.

Ps: the Joke remains on you if you still don't learn anything here.

Lol. He wants them to be selling water in carts. What kind of empowerment is this? What kind of skill are the going to acquire from selling water?

Honestly, this country is cursed with bad leaders.

Re: Youth Empowerment Programme Of Roni LGA Chairman In Jigawa by FreeStuffsNG:
Very commendable effort by the LGA. It should extend equivalent gesture to assist those youths in formal education too.

I know many ignorant people and lazy, idle, poorly educated, fake life youths with entitlement mentality will not know the practical utility value of this to less privileged but hardworking and upright youths with little or no formal education who eke out a living by selling water or traveling far distances to get water for their animals and farm. Smh.

Btw, this is by far better than ortomatic hoes and cutlass given by a whole Benue State Government o.

God who do Nigerian this? And the youth were all happy? Suffering and smiling.

I was neive and local until I travelled and get exposed to so many things I was thinking was right back then in Nigeria. What we take serious in Nigeria is actually nothing here.

What will kill ourselves praying from January to December for God to answer our prayers is actually prayer answered here. Religion and tribalism has dealt with us in Nigeria.

Better than giving them guns to join terrorists. This is philanthropy not empowerment. Or are they meant to be pushing those wheelbarrows at their ages?
