I’m not denying that terrorist attacks and killings still occur in northern Nigeria. However, it’s clear that the Nigerian government has little control over how information is managed or presented to the world. They’ve allowed individuals like Arnold to enter the country and push narratives about “Christian genocide,” which only fuels tension and reinforces misleading claims, such as those made by Ted Cruz who has limited understanding of the situation on the ground. Figures like Reno also share some blame; his one-man media squad often amplifies narratives that harm Nigeria’s image rather than help it. What’s more concerning is how easily foreigners gain access to sensitive areas like IDP camps and conflict zones without proper diplomatic protocol. They arrive, move freely, and create content that shapes international perception often without context or accountability. Nigeria’s biggest weakness here isn’t just the insecurity, it’s the lack of coordinated communication and information diplomacy. When foreigners dominate the story, they define how the world sees the crisis, and that can have long-term political and economic consequences. |

Nigeria will continue to be Nigeria. We will solve our problems with our own solutions. Those foreigner and their local agents will soon get tired of the narrative they are pushing because we are already on to them. |

@ Op, you make me 😂 with this your story. 1. There was a time when our media houses picked up every news about the stench of terrorism in this country. 2. The politicians who funded those media houses are in power today. They used the military to sensitize the media houses about downplaying news on terrorism. 3. When our media houses have decided to keep quiet, the international media houses have come to the rescue. |

The Nigerian government is working to improve its information dissemination and narrative control. We have capable local journalists and platforms that can tell our stories better. |
