Ahead of a planned solidarity protest by Omoyele Sowore to hinder flow of traffic on third mainland bridge over the recent demolition of structures at Oworo Community, the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh led a team of tactical units to prevent any unlawful gatthering and procession in the axis.

The Deployment of Police Personnel around Iyana Oworo was able to deter protesters from gathering and there is free vehicular movement on the third mainland bridge.

CP says there are information that the group led by Omoyele Sowore is planning to regroup elsewhere in Oworo Community hence the deployment of Command's tactical units to ensure no unlawful gathering is allowed in the axis.

"I hereby, as the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state police Command, declare Sowore wanted for the act of causing disturbance of public peace."

The Lagos State Government or any government has the prerogative to take over lands for redevelopment for the benefit of the society. Therefore, compensations MUST be paid promptly to those affected.

This isn't the time for anybody such as Omoyele Sowere to start irresponsibly disrupting vehicular traffic on the 3rd Mainland Bridge which witnesses heavy vehicular movements from the Mainland to the Island(s) as that can lead to loss of income for other business people or disrupt emergency medical services.

I wish all the former residents of Oworonsoki the best as they collect their compensations as reported in the media space online and Lagos State can still do more for them in terms of providing entrepreneurship training and initial funds for the young ones from each of the Oworonsoki families in the areas of aquaculture and the different value chains in the aquaculture ecosystem, green house farming, tech space, mushroom farming, and much more. It's NOT rocket science. People have to learn to be solutions providers when faced with turning points in our lives.
