We’ve been slowing things down a bit to reassess our direction. From recent discussions and research, it’s looking like there might be a stronger opportunity in starting with cargo operations first.

I’m currently in the US with @ComeBackKing (my co-founder), and once we’ve made our final decision, we’ll share everything in detail.

It’ll be worth your patience.

If you have any idea on how to fix this, let us know. We could start by selecting randomly or splitting

papiilo:
some people are very greedy they've won this before but they keep on coming back every week with different account even created new account just for it. Honestly I come to win because I need it but was disappointed angry

I am very happy to hear this update and seriously this is a best way to start with cargo operation

well i think selecting randomly is the best way to go of course.

Or

Splitting between 1,2 and 3 commenters
First comment 4k, second and third 3k respectively

Also set a rule that will exclude new accounts that is less than a year

Also no back to back 2weeks win straight

Or better still scrap it and instead reward people for the quality of their contributions and ideas towards your project.

I just came across this beautiful thread, and I'm truly inspired that Nigeria has bright young minds that are still trying to create impactful ventures despite the many challenges that have plagued us in recent times.

The only thing that yet irritates me about this thread is seeing people scrambling to make non-contributing comments every Sunday midnight. I understand their actions but it's still low-value and irritating in my opinion.

If you believe that Nairaland is home to bright minds who can outthink you and contribute unique ideas that will help enhance your project, and you have chosen to build in public via this platform instead of Twitter, Facebook, or even YouTube, then you have to demonstrate that by the type of activities/contributions you choose to reward.

Anyways, I'm keenly following this thread, as I believe there are a lot of things I could learn from your seeming wealth of experience and the journey of building this project.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Looking forward to your update on possible plan changes. However cargo is still a major part of income stream for passenger facing airlines

How do you propose we do this?

How do you propose we do this?
The 0.5% equity sharing you proposed is already a good start. However, not everyone is skilled in contributing via GitHub, so you might want to include selected contributions from this platform.

Once you launch, you then allocate the equity to all participants over a particular period of time, say 5 years.

So, the available equity per year for all selected open source contributors is (0.5/5)% each year for a total of 5 years.

If you have any contributions that you cannot push to the git, you can reach out to me and send it in whatever format you can. I'd structure it better and push it to the git.
