The issue of Biafra — an age-old struggle long considered dead, gone, and buried — seems to be finding new breath in the hearts of some. For many in the South-East, it remains a dream yet to be realized; a hope they believe might one day come to life again.
But let’s be honest — this is also a weakness that external powers could easily exploit, a fertile ground for manipulation, and perhaps even a resource-rich region to be conquered under the guise of “help.”
Now, the recent chatter about Donald Trump and the possibility of the United States establishing a military base in Port Harcourt raises more questions than answers. Why Port Harcourt? Why not at the heart of the so-called conflict zone if security and stability are the real motives?
Could it be that such a move has less to do with peacekeeping and more with positioning — a strategic foothold in Nigeria’s oil-rich south? Are U.S. troops being used as a symbolic presence, or are they searching for something else — influence, control, or perhaps a human shield for bigger geopolitical interests?
Some Nigerians, in their desperation for change or validation from foreign powers, seem willing to hold onto a sword even while drowning. They mistake external interest for genuine partnership, forgetting that nations have no permanent friends, only permanent interests.
It’s time to look deeper and think critically. Not every handshake is friendly, and not every foreign base means safety. Sometimes, it’s the beginning of something far more complex — a game of power, profit, and politics, played on our soil.

Nigeria will never allow any foreign powers to exploit the situation in the SE for their own gain. The US should respect our sovereignty and stay away from any military base in Nigeria.

The south East welcome Trump and the Americans.
Let them come and bring peaceful settlement to these crises.

You don't want the south East to exist and rule, yet you don't want them to go peacefully, that is witchcraft.

Trump we are waiting for you
