Very true.

Because cost of living in the USA is also very high. And yes, outsourcing happens because it is technologically easier and financially easier . But at the expense of jobs for the USA? (Many parts of the USA have large unemployment because of that...)
On point 1, if the grade of the petrol product is low, shouldn't our regulators use that to edge them out of the market without the 15% tariff or does dangote also sell the same quality? Food for thought.

The elite who benefit from this govt will always support her bad policies.

Tarrif is to discourage importation according to them, but what happens from the domestic side of manufacturing and selling cheaper to tame import? Rice importation that was banned, how far did we go?

Fuel imported from far away countries selling and competing cheaply with local product, isn't that economic suicide? Same crude we export to other countries, we no import and sell even comparatively to locally produced. Isn't this an obvious indictment on our producers that they are our major problem?

A country devoted to building comprador bourgeoisies as against national builders will continue to suffer.

Nigeria is irredeemable.
As for me, I support the policy. Not to put Dangote Refinery at advantage but to save us from spending the dollars we don't have on fuel imports so that the naira can gain a bit more strength. Most importantly, our rich and influential people needs to enter refinery business especially the modular refinery for those who have limited capital. State governments can come together to build a refinery through Public Private partnership, the private sector manages it and the profit is shared like NLNG model. I believe this will reduce the chances of Dangote becoming a Monopoly.

They are not ignorant, majority of them are obidense Ipob-ian-tic ESN Monday Sir at home and Ekpa Massob elements, for them the loss of the election means Nigeria can never be great again. Everything about Nigeria is doomed. Nothing good can come out of the country because they can not hold the country to ransom by their ideas and ethnic needs.

If these policies are embarked upon by GEJ or Okonjo Iweala, the internet will be flooded with praise of the duo by these elements
