Most northern leaders are the most wicked set of people I have ever known. In this day and age, this one thought it good to give omolanke to his people to do mairuwa .? I have lived in the north, and I dare say their leaders will, unfortunately, continue to keep the people poor and underdeveloped for the next foreseeable decades. It's so sad. The so-called youths are even shining teeth, not knowing they are being shortchanged. They should ask the man to go give those omolanke to his children to be doing mairuwa. |

At any point, Nigeria is like two countries - the progressive and the retrogressive, the weird and the normal, the evil and the good, the young and the old, the West and the East, the North and the South.... |

The Northern elites deliberately deny their people of education so they can continue exploiting their ignorance. If they were enlightened, things like this will not impress them. |

Nazgul:It's only when you have a skill that someone could empower you. This is more of equipment for making livelihoods. I'm suspecting they may not have basic education too. The government in the state should have trained them on something better. I've seen situations where youths are empowered with sewing machines, laptops and so on and most of them sold the equipment. Can you see that. It's true most of our leaders are not doing well. Sometimes, government is to be blamed and most times, you can't blame them. |

McLizbae:Were you expecting him to give them laptops or to get them jobs in banks before you agree that he is doing something to empower members of his constituency? |

Nazgul:that is the reality you failed to see.that handcarts might be very important to these people than laptops. Different priorities for different people |

McLizbae:Take it or leave it some omolanke operators who run their business in popular markets make over 100K a month compared to you who is struggling to make 60K from a business where you invested N6 million! ![]() |

I like that (bolded in your comment), and that is where I will be starting from, as I try to mentor you like a father. Update: that business actually returned a little above 120k at the end of October, with some promise of something better in the coming months. Should be 150k but I have decided to increase my staff pay by 10k, and also remove some 20k to support some miscellaneous in the business. My niece (staff) has found out some of the possible reasons for our low returns and we are address them. 1. Is poor adverts: even though our prices are the lowest, our potential customers are really not aware, and we are addressing that. 2. We are cutting down on unnecessary use of generator. The very little effort I have made to address this challenges has significantly improved sales and return in the past month, and we are looking for to better days. The business will certainly continue to grow. I know this because 1. most of the senior people who are into it before me has confirmed that fact to me, and 2. I am not losing anything but rather growing my gains little-by-little. With these facts, I am confident that this is an empowerment I can fall back to in a near future (when I am much older) and a stable investment that I can hand over to the generation that will follow me (my children) by God's grace. Now read that bolded statement again. If the omolanke operators can confidently say that too, then they have also made good choices for their current and future outlook, and that of their children. I mean, as empowered by their chosen leader. SamuraiXXX: |
