Tinubu the master borrower.
He borrowed to strengthen the naira against the dollar and it is working and Nigerians are happy and everywhere is developed now.

Tinubu is working hard to put smiles in everyone's faces. God bless the jagaban of Africa.
You sound incoherent like a broken record.

Are you ok?

See sovereign nation o, when it comes to trump issue they’re quick to shout “SOVEREIGN COUNTRY” but when it comes to loans, Nigeria is not Sovereign. Foolz

They removed subsidies from the oil sector, increased charges on imports at various ports, and raised VAT, yet the government keeps borrowing at every opportunity.

Nigerians are being far too passive by continuing to stay quiet.
That’s the Tinubu magic for you. It’s working on 20 million Lagosians for the last 26 years so it must work on 200 million Nigerians.

The Federal Government says it has no intention to borrow from any local or foreign organisation with its removal of subsidy on petrol and exchange rate harmonisation.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Chief Wale Edun, revealed this at the end of the inaugural Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday in Abuja.

He said that the benefit of the subsidy removal would be ploughed back into various sectors aimed at boosting government revenue and improving the business environment for local and foreign investment.

Edun said that with the increased revenue from subsidy removal, various palliatives have been made available to cushion its effect on a short, medium and long-term basis.

He reiterated the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s desire to bring back the economy from the wood it has found itself over time.

If you are smart and observant, you would have been able to recall that the budget includes a deficit element that is not covered by revenue.

But as school sat failed wey you be, it will be too much to remind you of this fact.

Meeting his revenue budget means he have enough money to pay back short term loans that was within the prohected revenue.

In the same budget, there is deficit, which means he will have to borrow to cover that.

If at tge end of the day his revenue superceded expectation, he can use it to boast his external reserve by savibg it, which the govt is doing right now, or he could use it to repay loans, which they are not doing.

But assuming that they wont have to borrow because they have meet their revenue target is babyish economics.

> What exactly do you think is responsible for the deficit nature of our national budget?

> We keep borrowing without producing. Can you educate us what exactly Tinubu is using these borrowed monies for?

> Please kindly explain to us what Tinubu meant by 'I have met my revenue target'.

We are waiting!

Thank you sir!

Well I will respond to you as you appear to be a reasonable, plus you prove yourself to be better than me by not responding to my implied insult.

Now I need to remind you that the budget have two distinct sides. Planned expenditure(expenses) and Revenue(Income). When the revenue exceeds expenses which is extremly rear in govt budgeting you have excess, but when the revenue is less, you have deficits.

When this budget was made, the projection is that we will have a deficit and the plan is that the government will borrow to cover this deficit.

While it is true that the govt has been able to achieve 100% of its project revenue up to August, which is remarkable as it is uncommon, this will not still be enough to cover the deficit that has been built into the budget.

Now I need to let you know that govt borrowing is always a mix of short, medium and longterm borrowing. When they declare the budget, they ussualy dont have the money, so they borrow short time to kick start the budget, this is paid back as the Revenue comes in, it includes loans from banks and individual like you and I(bonds, treasure bills etc) There is also long term borrowing ussualy for capital projects, most time budgets deficits meant for capital projects are longterm loans.

I hope I have been able to answer your questions in a way that is clearer for you.

Thanks

So Tinubu is craftily trying to bury his plan to borrow trillions in the muddled waters now that Nigerians are discussing Trumps threat to invade Nigeria. Tinubu thinks we will not notice his evil plan to lumber us with trillions more in debt huh

If you have money, just buy dollars and keep. These dulllards are using the loans to suppress the dollars for optics. At some point, it would become unmanageable.

To buttress my point in my initial response. Bellow is Canada's budget for 2026 as presented today by the finance minister

Note the budget deficit of $78 billion dollars. That is the amount the govt have to borrow to make the budget work.
