Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has stated that he supports the rehabilitation of repentant Boko Haram terrorists and bandits by the Federal Government of Nigeria. He said those who surrender and show they have changed should not be killed but forgiven and reintegrated into society.

In an interview with News Central TV, Sheikh Gumi said Jesus Christ once forgave the sins of a prostitute who was about to be stoned and told her to go and sin no more. He said both Islam and Christianity believe in forgiveness.

Gumi said repentant terrorists should be rehabilitated and turned into useful citizens. He added that they have valuable experience and can help the military defeat terrorists because they know their tactics and secrets

In Gumi's words: "So if they repent what do you want to do, to kill them? Jesus Christ taught us that if you see somebody repent (sic). A prostitute came to him, they wanted to stone her because it is stoning and killing, and he said, 'Go and sin no more'. This is even Christianity. So what do you want us to do? Put them and kill? That is what is called genocide, if they surrender then we accept their surrender and rehabilitate them and make them useful Nigerians"

For someone who is open to the idea of hijacking a religion as his own along with his mob, what gives you the right to interpret another religion you have no regard for or use to support an argument?

Is that to mean the prophets in islam are silent about Sinners and terrorists? I thought their sharia was about dealing with sinners so what does "their" book have to say about one who kills his felow muslim?

Let's get one thing straight - repentance is just a fancy word for 'I'm willing to save my skin'. If they want to play the victim and claim Jesus taught forgiveness, maybe it's time to re-read the part where he said 'sin no more'. .
