It is better and cheaper to build a brand new refinery than to buy a dilapitated and massively outdated NNPC refinery.

Those equipments are very rusty and many will never function maximally again due to their age and wear factor.

Those refineries are in scrap status now.

Secondly, I think President Tinubu bowed to pressures from many people to support the Dangote refinery at all cost. Since it's all that Nigeria have currently. It must not be allowed to fail. Above his family values.

Oando will rise. As long as Tinubu is in charge. They may spring up their own refinery soon. Perhaps tru acquisition (as u said) or as a new project.

Sorry you bought the top...exit liquidity. Best time to buy was during the early days of Buhari. Oil stocks/companies may not perform well anytime soon, except there is a global war or so.

The same Oando mafia is the one that has been fighting Dangote , if not for US govt supplying steady crude to Dangote ,Oando would have since shut down that refinery

If you really bought Oando shares and also follow or monitor news about the company, AGM, and read their financial reports then this should not be news to you. All these have been mentioned or highlighted by Oando several months ago before now.

Re: Oando Bows To Dangote Refinery, Suspends Fuel Imports by gracejohnnnie: 9:01am On Nov 06, 2025
This is actually a good move by Oando. The company is smartly adapting to Nigeria’s new reality instead of fighting it. Dangote refinery taking over PMS supply was inevitable, and Oando is now pivoting to higher-margin areas like crude, gas, and metals trading, which is where the future value lies. Short-term revenue dips are normal during transitions, but long-term, this positions them for stronger, more sustainable growth.
Re: Oando Bows To Dangote Refinery, Suspends Fuel Imports by gracejohnnnie: 9:14am On Nov 06, 2025
I totally get the frustration, but remember this dip reflects a short-term market reaction. The fundamentals still look strong, profit actually rose 164% year-on-year despite the shift in trading mix. Oando is repositioning for long-term growth in crude, gas, and metals.

Redoil:
do they have choice?
“Revenue declined by 20 per cent year-on-year to N2.5tn (9M 2024: N3.2tn), primarily due to a reduction in gasoline imports following the ramp-up of the Dangote refinery, which has positively transformed Nigeria’s refined-product supply landscape, partly offset by stronger upstream contributions,” the firm noted.
Re: Oando Bows To Dangote Refinery, Suspends Fuel Imports by gracejohnnnie: 9:21am On Nov 06, 2025
It’s understandable to feel that way, I bought millions of shares too, but sometimes these transitions take a few quarters to show real value. Oando is adapting to a new energy landscape, moving from low-margin petrol imports to higher-margin upstream and gas trading. That’s where the real growth will come from.Be patient and play te long game,we will see rewads.

If na Trump propaganda against Nigeria, they would have dragged this thread to page 10 already. The nation will prevail at last. Children of I pob can't and won't destroy this country; they've got nothing but loud mouth. Nigeria will march forward.

This is a bullish news for the naira. We need another refinery in this country. If fuel marketers had foresight, they would have frontran Dangote by establishing their own refinery before he did.

Re: Oando Bows To Dangote Refinery, Suspends Fuel Imports by Samuelsamuel: 10:11am On Nov 06, 2025
Lol I understand the panic but checkOando's report profit up 164%! The revenue drop was expected because Dangote refinery now covers most local petrol needs. Oando just shifted focus to crude and gas, which is smarter long-term.
Re: Oando Bows To Dangote Refinery, Suspends Fuel Imports by Samuelsamuel: 10:36am On Nov 06, 2025
It’s a temporary adjustment. The market’s still digesting the impact of Dangote refinery on imports, but Oando’s already pivoting and posting stronger profits. I think patience will pay off here.

Selling during a transformation phase might mean missing out on the rebound. The company’s profit more than doubled this year, and once the new strategy around crude and gas stabilises, the stock should start reflecting that strength.

Looks like a good time for Oando to switch from importing to mining if they have the investment capital to do a feasibility study and then commence domestic operations.
