The news of a US invasion of Nigeria has been all over social media for the past few days. Trump has continued to talk tough, he has continue to make threats of pushing ahead with illegality by launching a military invasion of sovereign country. Many naive clueless Nigerians continue to praise him, calling for US to invade their country. It is unfortunate to see how stupid Nigerians are as no sane country, not even USA citizens will entertain an invasion of another country into their country. Sadly, Nigerians appear to not understand the negative implications of what they are supporting. There are several reasons why Trump will not and can never invade Nigeria - I will list 2 below. - US Congress Trump may want to be seen as a tough guy but he knows that he can not do anything without the US congress authorization and no sane US senator/rep will support illlegality of violating international law by endorsing the invasion of a sovereign country that has not attacked the USA in any way. Trump won't get the majority vote of US congress to attack Nigeria. - UN Security Council The UN charter prohibits the use of force by any country when dealing with another country except on self-defense (including anticipatory and mutual self-defense) and such action must be authorized by the UN security council. Any other invasion or attack without UN security council approval is technically illegal under international law. Simply put, what is absolutely clear as far as international law as regards use of force (invasion of country) is that nothing is justified without a UN Security Council resolution. Trump can not invade without seeking the support of UN security council else he will be violating international law by attacking Nigeria unilaterally. If under former president Bush, the Security Council did not approve the Iraq invasion after all the noise by US media accusing Iraq of producing weapons of mass destruction, it is glaring that Trump's military invasion of Nigeria will also be blocked by the UN security council. - Final Words Nigerians need to wake up to realize that Trump does not care about them. He is only playing to the gallery to get Tinubu and his shameless government to accept a "hidden" US foreign policy that won't benefit Nigeria in any way. Nigerians must choose if they want a progressive nation as no one will save them but themselves. Restructuring or dividing the country may be the only way to tackle islamic terrorism, fulani genocide and widespread national insecurity. |

ARISHEM:but christian genocide in Nigeria especially in the north, is never a propagadan because it's as real as the air we breath. that these jihadists' terrorists get away with most of their killing expeditions, just like MNK predicted years back, proves that the fulanis are actually carrying out their plans with utmost precision. that they are also killing Muslims doesn't negate their original intention of land- grabbing and total Islamization of Nigeria. It's either the FGN defend Nigerians or the government should allow Nigerians to defend themselves. the killings have become too much and embarrassing to say the least. nothing is special about the fulanis, apart from the fact that they have access to weapons. |

There is no country that the US has meddled in it's affairs that remains the same or ends up better than they met it. Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan are perfect examples of what happens when US invades a country. The public narrative of christian genocide killings in Nigeria is simply not true as it is not just christians but people of other faiths are also been killed and displaced by these deadly terrorists in their quest to take over their ancestral lands and islamize Nigeria. Trump calling it a "christian genocide" does nothing but push a divisive agenda that only exacerbates the situation. If Trump truly wants to help Nigeria, instead of military invasion, he can push US congress to pass resolution banning/freezing foreign assets of top Nigerian politicians, army generals including Tinubu and others in his executive council that are directly complicit over these killings. In my opinion, "christian genocide" propaganda been pushed by US will only end up compounding Nigeria's terrible situation by further polarizing religious hateful sentiments among Nigerians.... 1nigeriamyfoot: |

You said what I wrote is nonsense, well this is my undiluted opinion, note that I am not writing to please any one. As i said in the post, a lasting solution to Nigeria's problem is to totally restructure or divide the country. This can only be achieved if the Nigerian people unite to demand for a nationwide referendum that will allow any region that wants to leave to do so. If the majority in northern Nigeria wants an Islamic state then no amount of military intervention will stop northern islamic terrorists that have the secret backing of their people to do what they are doing. Also, if people occupying a region in the south like the south east do not want to remain in Nigeria over glaring unjust marginalization, no amount of cosmetic national unity propaganda by Nigeria's government can make them change their stance towards the injustice done to them (Nnamdi Kanu's illegal kidnapping, detention and continued persecution by Nigeria as a perfect example). Nigeria will not make any genuine national progress if it continues to pretend/deny the inevitable truth that there is a foundational problem, the Nigerian people are not one and don't want to be under same laws or share same national interests required to build a progressive nation. It is obvious that the corrupt political elites ruling Nigeria knows this but choose to continue to push one Nigeria agenda for their selfish interests. US president Trump's intervention over the killings in Nigeria if he truly means well (I don't think he does) won't solve this underlying problem because it is only Nigerians that can solve this problem.... givedemwotowoto: |

Nigerians should never entertain any invasion threats from anyone. We are a sovereign nation and will defend our sovereignty against any threat, be it from Trump or anyone else. The only thing that can solve Nigeria's problem is Nigerian solutions. |
