Apologise for what exactly do you even have an idea the thousands of ipob members the nigerian state massacred unjustly?
They had weapons, it was a gun fight.
They chose to lose.

“SHOW ME THE LAW — THEN I WILL DEFEND MYSELF.” — KANU STANDS HIS GROUND IN COURT

It was a charged morning at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu walked in, calm but determined.
No lawyers beside him — he chose to speak for himself.

The courtroom was packed. Some people stood.
Everyone knew today would be intense.

KANU’S FIRST WORDS

He rose, looked directly at the judge, and said:

> “My Lord, there is no charge against me. Not one.
This court has no jurisdiction.”

His voice was steady.
No fear.
Just clarity.

He asked the court to rule on this immediately.

JUDGE SAYS ‘NOT NOW’

Justice Omotosho told him that the court would take his motion “at the proper stage.”

Kanu didn’t back down.

> “Jurisdiction comes first.
If there is no valid charge, there is no further stage.”

Murmurs in the gallery.
People leaned forward.

HE READS THE SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT ALOUD

Kanu opened a folder —
Inside was the December 15, 2023 Supreme Court decision.

He read a paragraph that said the charge used against him “does not exist in Nigerian law”
and must be amended.

He then looked straight at the government lawyers:

> “You were told to amend it.
You refused.
You forced me to plead to a charge that DOES NOT EXIST.”

You could feel the tension.
Even the air felt heavy.

THE CHALLENGE THAT SILENCED THE PROSECUTION

Kanu turned to the lead prosecutor, Senior Advocate Awomolo.

> “Learned Silk, please tell this court:
Name the law I have broken.”

Awomolo shuffled his papers.
He said nothing.

Kanu repeated:

> “Just one law.
The name.
The section.
The statute.
I am waiting.”

Still —
Silence.

Even people sitting at the back could sense the discomfort.

SECTION 36(12) — KANU’S KEY ARGUMENT

Kanu reminded the court:

> “Our constitution says no person can be tried for an offence not written in a law.
No written law = no offence.
No offence = no trial.”

The judge disagreed.
He said that rule only matters at the end — at conviction.

Kanu replied immediately, almost before the judge finished:

> “If the law is dead, the trial cannot start.
It is void from the beginning.”

Heads turned.
Some nodded.

HISTORIC CASE LAW

He quoted an old British case, Entick v. Carrington (1765):

> “If it is not in the law books, it is not law.”

He said the judge must take official notice that the laws used against him were repealed.

The judge said nothing.

“I WILL DEFEND MYSELF NOW — IF YOU SHOW ME THE LAW.”

At this point, the judge asked:

> “Are you ready to open your defence?”

Without hesitation, Kanu answered:

> “I will open my defence right now —
this minute —
if you show me the law I have broken.”

The room went silent.

PROSECUTION TRIES TO PUSH — AND FAILS

Awomolo SAN tried to speak:

> “He is wasting the time of the court.”

Kanu turned toward him:

> “I am wasting time?
Show me the law.
If you show it, I will go to the dock immediately.”

Awomolo sat down.
He had no response.

Someone in the gallery whispered:
“Checkmate.”

KANU: ‘THIS IS PERSECUTION’

Before the session ended, Kanu said quietly but firmly:

> “When a court refuses to acknowledge the law,
refuses to obey the Supreme Court,
and insists on trial with no charge —
that is not justice.
It is persecution.”

No one challenged him.

You could hear the emotion in his voice —
not fear,
not anger,
but exhaustion…
and conviction.

ADJOURNED

The judge adjourned the case to
Wednesday, November 5, 2025
for Kanu to “open his defence or waive it.”

Kanu maintained one final sentence:

> “No law, no trial.”

THE HEART OF THE MATTER

The laws used to charge him were repealed.
The Supreme Court ordered government lawyers to amend the charges —
but they never did.

So today, Kanu stands in court, essentially asking:

> “Why am I still here?”

No one has answered.

THE PUBLIC QUESTION

If the highest court in the land said the law is dead…
If the constitution says you cannot be tried without a written law…
If even the prosecutors cannot name the law he broke…

Then why is he still in detention?

That is the question hanging in the air unanswered.

Hogwash!
You expect everyone to be a coward like you!
One man's perception of "cowardice" is another man's common sense for self preservation. No court of law anywhere in the world will tolerate for long the spectacle of hysterical screaming by any accused person, without dire consequences being visited upon the noise maker at some point.

Anyone facing court action who feels that getting rid of their legal team so they can represent themselves in court, and who also expects a favorable outcome after shrieking personal insults at the presiding judge even BEFORE any judgement had been rendered, will in so doing have placed themselves on a collision course with a particularly harsh reality.

Pls bring down this picture. At least, for the sake of his(N. Kanu's) innocent children.

You say some of them has been repealed and some not. Can you throw more light.
Willy2025:
He is making a very serious and costly mistake by this act of contempt. Upon his arraignment and re-arraignment, the provisions of the law he violated were read to him to which he replied that he understood and was not guilty. He can't turn around and be asking under which law is he being tried. Also, those laws were in existence as at the time he violated them. Notwithstanding that some of them had been repealed, he is being correctly tried under those laws.

Jakumo:
It is important that anyone with a case in court learns from what is about to befall Kanu. The arrogance, stupidity, and futility of sacking one's lawyers in order to represent oneself in court will become evident when Kanu's very long jail sentence is handed down by the presiding judge.

The punishment that Kanu will endure as a direct result of his screaming personal insults at the presiding judge, while also DARING the judge to jail him, will be a far longer term of imprisonment than would have been handed down IF ONLY Kanu had taken a calmer, repectful, and less confrontational attitude.

In short, Kanu's fate is sealed with all these outbursts in court. This man will soon be silenced and forgotten in jail, where he can shout and scream as loud as he likes until he runs out of willpower to continue that pointless waste of energy.
Why do you feel sorry for someone who has written a letter to his almighty Donald Trump, his saviour and expecting Trump to bomb the hell out of Nigeria? Don't you know how his people think? Can you imagine when someone is being accused of terrorism and he's claiming he's not only to behave worse than a terrorist abusing a federal judge. Even crazy Trump won't try that to a sitting judge. He might complain outside the courts oh but in the presence of a judge. We saw him when he was facing trial now. Dem no born am reach as crazy as Trump is. I'm just hoping he won't get more than ten years sentence

Remember, Mr. Man married a UK single mom to gain citizenship abroad. Today the lady and his adopted country could care less about his future. Just check the pics of his low budget non-royal wedding. I dare not post on this medium of information. On top of that his fake friends in that middle eastern country has abandon his royal not-highness. cheesy

This is very true. The court of law is NOT the place for hysterical shouting. It is where lawyers argue finer points of the law using formal and diplomatic language that is clearly beyond Mr. Kanu's capability because all he ever does when given the chance to speak, is to yell and .scream in anger like a wild animal. That unhinged shouting AGBERO mentality will never work to the advantage of any accused person in court.
