Dangote Refinery Reduces Fuel Price After Massive Drop In Imported Petrol Rates

Dangote Refinery has reduced its gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit after a significant drop in the landing cost of imported petrol in Nigeria.

Checks by DAILY POST on Friday showed that the refinery reduced its ex-depot petrol price to N827 per litre, down from N872.

This means that the refinery dropped its fuel price by N44.

The firm has officially confirmed the downward adjustment as of the time of this report.

The price reduction comes after the landing cost of imported petrol recorded consistent drops in the last few days.

DAILY POST reports that the landing cost of petrol dropped to N827.04 as of November 2025, according to the data from the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria.

The development had pushed retail prices of fuel down in parts of Abuja.

Consequently, the Refinery claimed it has reviewed its petrol price to compete in the country’s downstream sector.

It is expected that Dangote Refinery’s retail partners; MRS, AP Ardova and other filling stations, would reduce their petrol price below N950 per litre in the coming days.

Reduce today and increase tomorrow. The inconsistency in the Nigeria government is second to none. Sometimes, I don't really blame the presidency so much, I blame the masses more. The reason is that una go open two clear eyes to vote for incompetence, una go dey defend rubbish all because of religion and tribe. One day, my DNA approved kids will ask me "daddy why is this part of the world so backward" and I will tell them "I unfortunately shared same country with great f00ls". In the other thread, I see as some of dem dey attack Trump for wanting to help us combat terrorism, dem say Trump dey come steal our oil and mineral resources grin. Aside coke and fanta, you don ever enjoy the benefit of the mineral resources once? Now I see why majority of una dey marry non-virgins and still no get brain to go for DNA test.

What do I even know sef aside enlightening my fellow men nationwide with the good news of DNA test

Yes it feels like nonsense until you want to fill up your cars tank and you need 100 liters

By the time you calculate that 10 Kobo times 100 you have 1 lt free

But what you have there is a 40 Kobo reduction. You are actually looking at one gallon free. Thats a lot... 5 liters

Nigeria is at a critical juncture and government reforms are gradually yielding results.
I commend Dangote refinery for achieving a big milestone and submitting to market forces

Fuel prince in Nigeria shouldn't be more than 350 Naira per litre.
Dangote only reduced it because he is facing strong competition that wouldn't bulge to his supremacy.
Re: Dangote Refinery Reduces Fuel Price From ₦872 To ₦827 by Realdeals(m): 3:25pm On Nov 08, 2025
It is nonsense for Dangote to wait for landing cost of imported fuel to drop before reducing its price.

Fuel prices are never static in any market economy. They are determined by global prices of crude oil.
This is not a situation where a govt just fix the price.
It will go up and down.

No, I disagree with. It is illiteracy that makes a person blame the FG for fluctuations in the price of fuel, even though every educated person knows that the government has deregulated the oil sector. Meaning the government is not involved anymore.

Very unserious nonsense people, why not #400? Dangote was never even selling fuel at #871, he was selling at #920. They just like playing Nigerians like Ludo, tomorrow now, he will increase it to #950.
