For 34 years since the passing of the late Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Zuilkanani Gambari, his estate has been the subject of deep neglect and ongoing inheritance mismanagement.

Across the country, the Zuilkanani Gambari Estate, once a symbol of dignity and leadership, has suffered from years of poor oversight. Vehicles were left to decay, while several properties that formed part of the Emir of Ilorin Estate were abandoned, sold, or transferred without the knowledge or consent of the rightful heirs.

In many instances, documents were altered and transactions executed without any estate transparency or lawful distribution to the legitimate beneficiaries. This troubling pattern has given rise to what has now become one of the most concerning Ilorin inheritance cases in recent memory.

A particularly distressing example is a mansion built on 12 plots, surrounded by over 48 additional plots in a prime area of Ilorin. This valuable property, left unattended for more than three decades, has now allegedly been leased to an unknown developer for another 35 years, without consultation or disclosure to the other heirs. The property lease controversy involving Ahmed Bolakale Gambari raises significant questions about fairness, legality, and accountability within the Gambari family dispute.

Despite repeated appeals, no details have been provided regarding the developer’s identity, the terms of the agreement, or any justification for such unilateral action. These decisions, taken without family consensus, have deepened the Ilorin heirs’ property dispute and further eroded trust among members of the estate.

All we, the legitimate heirs, are asking for is justice for the heirs, inheritance fairness, and the equitable distribution of what rightfully belongs to us. The Gambari family court case is not merely about land or assets, it is about restoring accountability, justice, and transparency to the Zuilkanani Gambari Estate case, ensuring that the legacy of the late Emir is treated with the honour and respect it deserves.

What a shame, such assets are supposed to be guided and become part of our history. Such personal properties should have been in a museum built for him. His cars, regalias etc.
