Try changing the location of the ODU. Check the signal strength while doing that. I helped a friend out who had same opinion as you, and now it is the best thing in the world lol.

So I did that sim swap yesterday. and I inserted into ODU after 24 hours. Then I did the normal monthly unlimited. However, I'm not even getting any signal again. The outdoor is just showing 2 White light. No green or blue. And it's saying no internet inside.

Don't really know what's wrong. I'm thinking that maybe the Sim swap isn't successful or active yet. But then subscription went through.

I faced similar issues on my ZTE ODU when I got it last week, after it was installed, it connected without internet access, the installer had to restart it for it to connect, then after that it went off again after the installer had already gone, so I called him and he told me to restart the device again, I did that all through that day but it still refused to connect on checking the ODU dashboard, I noticed the Sim number showing there is totally different from the one I registered.

So I contacted the Airtel Office, they initially said the fault was from the installer that he might have installed someone else device, until I proved otherwise by showing the device IMEI which matches what I snapped at the office after payment. So they said the error might be that the device was initially registered for someone else but didn't go through, before they used same device to register for me, so the number is clashing.

I requested for my registered line to be converted to a physical Sim, since I saw it was active and tied to my Airtel account on the app, but to my greatest surprise, they said it doesn't support physical Sim. I just laughed it off, and took pictures of the Sim slot and sent to them, but they now said it may not work. I literally had to snap the pages on their manual that indicated it works with both eSIM and physical Sim, and the use of physical overrides the eSIM functional which makes the device make use of the physical Sim directly.

I had to further prove it to them by inserting my previous Airtel 20mbps unlimited Sim in it and told them that it works. They now called me the next day to speak on a conference call with their supervisor to explain my case with him, after a few hours later, they told me to go back to the office and try to get the physical Sim, but on reaching there they said NIMC portal was down. So I opted for a roadside SIM swap of the eSIM since it was weekend and I didn't want to wait to come back on Monday.

The Sim swap was successful and I have now installed the physical Sim into the Sim slot and it is working fine now without any issues or interruptions.

If you have eSIM registered for you already, just make sure first that the eSIM number issued to you is active, then take that number to any Airtel outlet and request for a SIM swap. Most Airtel staffs are not aware of this simple solution.

Put the simcard in a touch phone and see if it brings network or not.

I did my own sim swap yesterday, till now, the sim does not bring network.

I put it inside a touch light phone and it says register failed. I dialed the number and it rings out from the dialling phone but doesn't ring on the phone its been out inside.


Contacted the person who did the registration and he sent me a message that was sent to him that sim swap is successful and active.

Dunno what to do now. Will probably just cut my losses and abandon the sim card

How does SIM swap work? I’m not even sure if mine is a physical SIM or an eSIM, but I believe it’s an eSIM.first thing is to confirm by unscrewing it to be sure it's an esim. Secondly, it might have switched to physical sim under settings. You could check for that too. Lastly it might be a NIN registration issue. It might require that it needs to be reregistered for it to come back up. These things seem complicated if you don't know your way around the ODU. Also I don't know the particular ODU you have. Na long thing...

Please, how do I go about it? Will I need to buy a new SIM card and ask them to transfer my eSIM number to it?

Is your ODU ZLT or ZTE? I did sim swap today........and it was effected within 30mins. Just tell them at Airtel shop that you want to do sim swap, they will need your sim number and NIN before it can be authorized

I downloaded cell mapper but didn't use it.....go into the ZTE odu page, write out the list of PCI and EARFCN you can see, they might be more depending on your environment. Lock them one by one by inputting them into the cell locking script prompt, confirm and test the speed, whichever one gives you the best speed, lock it and that's it. I was getting ranging from 5mbps to 20mbps. Sinnce I lock a particular cell, i have been having consistently excellent internet speed with good ping

Bro please I'm using the ZTE G5F MF296A model and the ODU page 192.168.254.1 . Picture below is what I'm getting as PCI and it is only displayed on the 4G section as the 5G has no data. How do i test the cell locking script because during the day i usually have slow speeds especially weekend can't stream flawlessly but once is night speed gets back to normal.

I just check my zlt ODU today and I saw the SIM slot.

Please I need you to help me with this question before I do the SIM swap.

1. How much is the SIM swap?
2. Is the swap the same as the normal SIM or different so that I can inform the agent the type of swap I needed?
3. If I swap the SIM to physical SIM, will I be able to continue subscribing the 50mbps unlimited??
4. Can I use the SIM on phone or other router with out losing the SIM unlimited 50 subscription? I heard some people said their SIM change to normal SIM after inserting it in another router/phone
5. Do I need to do any settings after inserting it in my ODU device or it just pick up immediately I inserted it?
