My Experience With VIO Personnels... by Sonnobax15(op): 1:26pm On Nov 08, 2025
Happy weekend to each and every Nairalander out there......hope y'all are already getting prepared for Donald Trump's evasion? cheesy

There was this funny experience I had with VIO personnels when I was still riding Keke. I was on the road that particular day and was in a joyous mood, but was suddenly cut short when I found out VIOs were in front, inspecting the particulars of vehicles and tricycles(Keke). Immediately I remembered how my first experience with them was,and how I wept that day in their office, pleading but they managed to pity me after dropping the sum of 20k before they could release my Keke for me. I remembered how I went to workshop the following day and i dropped the story before my fellow Keke riders and one of them gave me a trick which he had been using whenever he came across VIO. That he'd park his Keke at a very far distance and walk up to them, discuss with them and probably give them a small token and they'd let him pass. What a trick indeed!!!. While I was already here contemplating on the next move to take, the trick just flashed in and I was like--"Make I try am first whether e go work for me" angry

So I parked at a very far distance as I was told to,but it was quite obvious they had already seen me. I met one of them and explained to him that my road worthiness had expired but if he could please let me pass . He agreed and even requested that I should give him #500 first. I gave him the money and went back to where my Keke was parked. I ignited it and zoomed off, with all my passengers fully intact.

On getting to where they(VIO) were inspecting other vehicles,I discovered that the officer whom I met wasn't there any more. He must had deceived me angry. Omoh,na once my head first open angry. Immediately,I knew I was already in another wahala and before I could say jack,I was already ordered to park. I was ordered to bring out my particulars for inspection. That was when I started stammering and before I could realize, all my passengers had already boarded another Keke and I was left to face my fate angry. Omoh,I could remember myself looking up to the sky and questioning myself --"Obax,why you mumu like this". "I for kukuma drop the passengers make I reverse like I dey do normally before" angry. But it was already too late.

After spending about 20 minutes there with them, pleading and begging. Finally they freed me,but after collecting all the money I've worked on that day angry. But I learnt never to take advice from my fellow Keke riders again cuz I realized many of them were always fond of misleading others. angry

Dear Nairalanders, have anyone had any funny and unforgettable experience with either VIO or FRSC officers before?

Re: My Experience With VIO Personnels... by Demetrix: 10:06pm On Nov 08, 2025
Would be perfect if you can acquire the required documents and enjoy your keke business without their disturbance, sir.
Re: My Experience With VIO Personnels... by SisterAnn(f):
My own was with FRSC that year. I have driven for many years without a valid drivers license.
But because I was a woman, they hardly stopped me to check my partyKola.

But on this fateful day, they stopped me.

As I parked and the guy started approaching, I started forming to be in a haste.

I told them I was a nursing mother and had to quickly dash out to buy groceries and my neighbor whom I left my baby in her care has been calling me that my baby has not stopped crying since I stepped out.

I told them I picked up a purse not containing my license in my hurry.

As I told my sob story I was also rubbing my two breasts and cupping them while swinging them from side to side and feigning that my breast milk was so full and leaking which I told them was a sign that my baby needed me asap.

I came down from my car and was cupping and pressing my two breasts while begging them to let me go.

The young man just had no choice than to let me go with my Wahala.

It worked.

Transporters prefer to settle officials than make out time to go regularize their papers.

Why are you transporters never find time to update your papers until it cost you something big?

Bros what the rider told you is actually correct, just that he mistook vio for frsc... You only do this stop at a distance, approach and settle with FRSC not VIO. Even bush markets vehicles do it too... After settling em, when u are approaching, they act as if they don't see you till you pass and go your way... But na basically when you carry load sha...

Re: My Experience With VIO Personnels... by Josywhyte: 9:17am On Dec 24, 2025
Renew your license and be free from embarrassment from these guys. That's why I love one Keke driver in my area. His papers are always complete and he buys his tickets to avoid any form of embarrassment from anybody. If you stop him illegally, him go show you him bad side. Some of VIOs or ticket sellers use to call him "bad market"

VIO officials are all thieves themselves like police men. I wonder why Nigeria keeps producing thieves in uniforms.

The vehicle papers we renew every year, what relevance is it to the common man? Someone, somewhere is looting the money, in addition to the extortion of government officials in uniforms. Isn't that crazy?

Re: My Experience With VIO Personnels... by GloriousGbola: 9:31am On Dec 24, 2025
i will not drive my car if any paper is expired.

it is really that simple. rather than spend the money to ensure you are in order, you would rather be dodging officials, dashing them money, and losing a whole day in their office.

if that is not some form of mental illness, i dont know what is

i sometimes carry an expired set and a current set of papers to fk with them. they think they have me, they are doing hard face, they are saying oya we are going to the office, i bring out the original papers, laugh in their faces, and tell them better luck next time

There are some VIO if you are going to Warri, after Benin, somewhere around that place where they say welcome to Delta, those guys are crooks and thieves and extortioners on uniform. I just wish I can report those people. They even ask you to send 10k to an Opay. Like what's happening in this country.

Like all our papers are complete, we went through Ibadan, Ore those part, we were checked by VIO. But that particular point is always full of drama, ehnnn, dem don turn the taya, come on, what's happening
