Nigeria News Today: The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Sama'ila Bagudo, who was abducted on October 31, 2025, has regained his freedom and reunited with his family after receiving medical attention.

Police Confirm Safe Return

In a statement issued by the Kebbi State Police Command, the authorities commended the courage and professionalism of the combined security team involved in the rescue operation. The command also praised residents for providing credible intelligence that contributed to the legislator’s safe return.

The statement reaffirmed the Kebbi Police Command’s commitment to sustaining its fight against banditry, kidnapping, and violent crimes across the state.

Police Urge Vigilance

The command urged citizens to remain calm and vigilant, and to promptly report suspicious movements to the nearest police station or security agency for swift response.

Bagudo’s abduction had triggered widespread concern among residents of Bagudo Local Government Area and across the state, where insecurity remains a key challenge despite ongoing counter-operations.

The The Bureau News reports that Kebbi has recently intensified its security response following a string of kidnappings targeting politicians and rural dwellers in the northwestern region.

That is why the kebbi state governor organized prayers ..prayers against insecurity in the state all because a politician.. kebbi deputy speaker has been kidnapped.. but when the poor people are kidnapped nothing is organized.. they will not even care about the poor kidnapped victims..
Re: Kebbi Deputy Speaker Regains Freedom After Abduction by ufotunang: 9:10am On Nov 10, 2025
That is why you government in power should address and tackle.. poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living, high rate of unemployment, for they say an idle mind is the devil's workshop and an hungry man is an angry man...so that the insecurity, kidnapping, banditry does not get to Nigerians and also to the politicians and government officials

🇳🇬 .

There is a significant and credible fear unchecked, these non-state actors will continue to escalate their activities, potentially overrunning local administrations and making terrorism a daily, routine occurrence.

The tragic reality is that the masses are the primary victims of this escalating insecurity. The recent abduction of a high-ranking official, such as the Deputy Speaker of Kebbi State, serves as a stark and humiliating example of the security forces' operational failings. This incident highlights a severe vulnerability within even the most protected circles.

If individuals of such prominence and protection can be targeted, it signals an even greater danger and potential for suffering for the general populace.

The police did a great work to secure the safe return of the Deputy Speaker, due to credible intelligence gathering. In fact, no ransom was paid 😂

How could such a high-profile figure be abducted despite the state’s intensified security measures?
