While each device connected has its own unique internal IP and MAC address, the fact remains that the public viewable IP only traces back to you, so no let niceness land you for prison.

I recently installed Mtn Fibre X. It's an unlimited plan and I use just 2-5GB daily.

I don't usually stay at home most times.

So it pains me that the unlimited data is wasting.

Meanwhile I have a family neighbour, a widow with kids. There are 6 kids. Four girls, and 2 guys in mid twenties.

I intentionally left Router password open so they can connect.

Currently 4 people are connected to my internet.

My fear is that one of the guys always posts Yahoo related things like "Aza sure" "Chase Bank" "We are active " " sure plug" "Btc this and that."

He has no known job. I don't trust him.

I suspect he might be into fraudulent schemes and if anything goes wrong while using my internet, my IP address registered with my NIN will be traced.

Is there a way to protect myself while allowing the family use the unlimited data?

it is still very slow,only good for watching YouTube,updating apps and downloading movies...nothing special,a waste of my monthly 25k as you must always have constant electricity for it.....and I don't know how you shared with your neighbours ,that thing don't leave the confine of your apartment.... except they all carry chairs and camp in your frontage.

Why leave your router unprotected? That's carelessness... Secure it and give them the password, than leaving it open.
