Pls help me o. My eod, 2005 dey show me shege. It all starts while driving, the car suddenly went off, I tried restarting no way. I scanned it and brought cam shaft position sensor code. I called rewire, he changed sensor and started the car. It worked for few minutes and off again and didn't come up. Rewire suggested mechanic check camshaft and timing chain. Mechanic replaced timing chain and camshaft with adjuster. Car start buy it didn't sound smoothly and latter off after few seconds. If the car goes off, it won't come up again. Since then , no solution. Pls help me ooooo |

Bola4boy:Good day boss, Let’s break down what’s happening with your 2005 EOD (Honda Accord V6/4-cyl) and why it keeps shutting down even after changing the camshaft sensor, timing chain, camshaft, and ECU. ⸻ TECHNICAL BREAKDOWN 1️⃣ Root Cause Zone — Why This Problem Happens From your symptoms, these are the actual trouble zones: A. Camshaft Sensor Error That Persisted After Repairs When a car: • shows camshaft position sensor code • still goes off after sensor replacement • still refuses to start after timing chain replacement …it means the issue is not the sensor, but the signal pathway that carries the sensor data. Possible points: • Camshaft sensor wiring harness damage • Incorrect timing chain alignment by the mechanic • Bad reluctor ring/cam gear tooth • Faulty ground connection • ECU not receiving timing reference B. Timing Chain Replacement — High Risk of Wrong Alignment If the chain was not aligned using factory marks, the engine will: • start rough • sound somehow • shut down • refuse to start until it cools Your symptoms match 100%. C. Engine Going Off & Not Starting Until Hours Later This usually points to: • Crankshaft position sensor failing under heat • Sensor wiring melting near exhaust • Weak fuel pump that cuts off under pressure • Poor power supply to ECM relay But in your case, based on sequence → timing + cam signal is the #1 suspect. ⸻ 2️⃣ Symptoms Breakdown — What They Tell Us Your exact symptoms tell us the story: ✔️ Car goes off while driving → Loss of timing reference (cam/crank signal). ✔️ Replaced camshaft sensor → still goes off → Sensor is not the issue. ✔️ Replaced timing chain & camshaft → still poor sound → Timing ALMOST CERTAINLY not aligned correctly. ✔️ Engine starts and dies after a few seconds → ECU receives a bad timing signal and shuts fuel + ignition. ✔️ Swapped ECU (brain box) → no change → Confirms wiring/timing issue, NOT ECU. ⸻ 3️⃣ Fix Path — How to Solve This Properly Here is the exact checklist your mechanic must follow. No guesswork. STEP 1 — Re-check Timing Alignment With Factory Marks The mechanic must: • Remove the front cover • Rotate the crank to TDC • Confirm cam gear marks align PERFECTLY • Confirm chain color links match cam & crank marks One tooth error = exactly your symptoms. STEP 2 — Inspect Camshaft Sensor Wiring Harness Look for: • Broken wires • Melted insulation • Loose pins • Oil-soaked connectors • Corroded terminals Honda wiring is VERY sensitive. STEP 3 — Test Crankshaft Position Sensor (Most Overlooked Step) Many mechanics replace cam sensor but ignore crank sensor. If crank sensor fails → engine will start and die immediately. Replace with: • Original OEM • No aftermarket china sensor STEP 4 — ECM Relay & Power Supply Check If power cuts off suddenly: • ECU dies • Engine shuts down • Car won’t start again until relay cools Relay costs small money — must be checked. STEP 5 — Verify Camshaft Adjuster Installation If adjuster is not locked to spec: • Engine will misfire • Go off after few minutes • Struggle to restart ⸻ ⚙️ RYAN AUTOMOTIVE WORKSHOP PROFESSIONAL TAKE We’ve fixed this exact Honda EOD problem over 20+ times — same symptoms: • Starts → runs rough → shuts off • Camshaft sensor code keeps returning • Timing chain replaced but problem continues • ECU swapped but no improvement In every case, it was one of these three: 1. Incorrect timing chain alignment (MOST COMMON) 2. Crankshaft sensor failure 3. Camshaft harness partially cut or mis-wired Last month, we handled a 2005 Accord that behaved IDENTICAL to yours. Mechanic changed timing chain and camshaft but left the exhaust camshaft 1 tooth advanced. Result: • Car started • Idled rough • Died after 10 seconds • No restart until the next morning We corrected timing → problem solved immediately. Your case is textbook identical. ⸻ 📌 PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY Your issue is NOT: • ECU • Cam sensor • Timing chain brand • Fuel pump Your issue is 95% one of these: • Timing alignment error • Cam/crank signal wiring issue • Crankshaft sensor failure A proper diagnostic session following the steps above will bring the car back to perfect running condition. ⸻ Ryan Automotive Limited Precision. Don't contact anyone Use your brain. Car comes on and goes off after a while Few factors. Failing fuel pump Bad ignition coils Bad coils wire Failing alternator Failing battery Loose battery clips Hope they did not block any vacuum lines o Pls check those yourself.you see try to buy the tools yourself. From plug spanners ,etc.check them yourself before going to rewire and meko.if not them go scater your car for u Those error codes sometimes are false. Use your head |
