Front page material. This is enlightening.

Hmmm

How nostalgic!!

Remember when it used to be a ritual listening to BBC's Focus on Africa and VOA on shortwave radio with all the hassles of interference and fine-tuning.

Thanks to technology, same stations and much more are just a click on an app.

Reading and writing will die eventually since AI is here. People think these kids are smart but their brain is replaced by computers.

Manufacturers of mobile phones killed the radio by removing the headphone jack and deleting it from phones but some people still listen to it as podcast cheesy

Foolish invention by Apple because first, it drains your battery. Radio is the cheapest and most accessible form of media across the world. Secondly, they turned us to data objects. They wanted to know everything we were doing by monitoring what we listen to then throwing ads on us. It's the most d____est thing in the world to use the internet to listen to local radio. The second most d____est thing was to replace wired earphones with wireless earphones for convenience yet the wireless earphones will inconvenience you every 2-3 hours because it needs to be recharged 🤡

If you notice, newer cars have removed radios (free) and they want us to be streaming (paid). There is a law proposed in US to ban auto manufacturers from removing car stereo radios. They tried it with mobile phones but it didn't work but they claim for public safety, radio is essential. It was a response to Elon Musk saying he would phase out radios from Teslas because AM radio causes interference with electronic cars. I think over time, the tech industry has won. That's why when they said should a coup happen, the old school way of going to Radio Nigeria to announce it will be like a joke. Maybe the plotters will use influenzas grin grin
Seems you like listening to radio. It’s quite informative, and wireless earpiece can last a whole day, heck why not buy two?

it's almost as if you lusers believe the world is supposed to remain a static monument to manual labor and fleeting artisanal obsessions.

I still listen to Uncle Jimi Disu rally his senile diatribes against the government of both Sanwo'lu and Tinubu each and everyday using a manual radio.

The problem with old tech is resources, the raw materials needed for manual engines could make 2 automatic, resources for a radio can make 5 smartphones, we could get 20 digital clock off a single analogue so why go back. Talking about learning instead of stressing the brain on little things a calculator could do rather channel it into more critical decision making which the computer can't do. That's the idea behind these techs, though there's greed behind them too but just like slavery every good has its own evil.

I don't know the last time I saw transistor radio...

Back in 2005, I memorise the number of friends and family. That time they have call centre were you pay to use their GSM... When was the last time someone called a phone GSM? 🤔

Thanks for sharing

Never knew writing in cursive was ever an academic requirement

But let's be real: who really needs physical maps? (Unless maybe you're a Geography teacher or something)

The part about not being able to memorize numbers may not be true here in Nigeria.

Just saying

Thanks again. That was a nice share...

Prostitution is the only profession that will survive millions of years to come.

Even A I can never replace it

I was waiting for the 18 skills until I saw the OP had the IG link here and our lalasticlala is lalaing wink

No 10 was READING NEWSPAPERS
No 12 was NAVIGATING WITHOUT GPS

People don't read anymore so no surprises. They conclude to understand instead of the other way round. I try to drive without GPS where I can. I mean, I believe reading maps should be something of survival. No wonder No 14 was USING A COMPASS 🧭

I will just correct the number 18, USING LANDLINE PHONES. Landlines are making a comeback. I think Gen Z is tired of tech addiction. If you're into business, I just gave you free intel. Wait for the market. The old will become anew wink

will the Vaseline cuddle with you
Will the Vaseline tongue kiss you
Will the Vaseline moan for you
Can you grab Vaseline hair during doggy?
Does Vaseline give you nipple to suck?

There are things A.I and Vaseline can never replicate. Human connection beats A.I

Imagine a robot in female form that is ready to give you anything you want sexually, only at 10 percent of what a real female prostitute charges. And to top it off, you don't have to worry about HIV, or contracting some other STD. What would be your pick? Robot or female?
