I need to point out though that in many western countries a girl of 16 can marry as long as her parents give consent.

At 18 she can marry without their consent

You people are comedians. No sensible lawyer will even take that case to court. Seems you forgot the social media fanfare that came with this marriage, and the fathers and mothers position.
