FCT has a laid down process of challenging "illegal" developments
For the FCT Minister to personally show up on the disputed land, i assume these processes have been followed with no response from the Army

The error the Minister made was to try and buldoze his way into the "illegal" development ignoring the simple way of using formal documentation to the highest authority which is the Presidency.
The chief of Naval staff is not under the authority of the FCT rather there is an office responsible for the uniform men which the FCT could have visited to discuss the illegal development

Going to the land and trying to force his way in is babaric and unnecessary
Calling an office "fool" is literally calling the Ffederal Republic of Nigeria fool.

The young officer was under orders and you want him to succumb to your own authority without his boss' consent?

The Army has been in the business of grabing land for so long that it has become a norm which can only be handled by the commander in chief not the FCT minister.

Now the matter will be settled by the same authority Wike could have gone to instead of coming to mess himself up

The land in question is vested in the minister and no one else. That place is not a military barrack. It is a land that is governed by civil authority. Immediately the FCT minister ordered him out of the place, he has no reason not to comply. Preventing the FCT minister from accessing the land is the height of irresponsibility. It should never happen again.

In this discussion, Wike as Minister of the FCT is a representative of the president. All affairs pertaining to administration of the FCT fall under his purview. The question we should be asking myself is what is a commissioned officer of the Niverian Navy doing in a private building construction site?

How can a minister of federal Republic be calling ppeople fool in an open place and publicly.. That's a very serious offense that is enough to have him removed and sacked.. It's says a lot of bad thing about the government..

When you break the law, your authority fades...if someone in uniform is intoxicated and starts slapping people, he can be mobbed...does not mean people will just start mobbing him if he is behaving himself.

There is code of conduct expected of every office to maintain its dignity.

Wike is in the wrong here..you don't go around insulting people. Just like the way Trump has reduced the respect of the office of the president by trading insults on social media.

The type of reasoning stagnating Nigeria. It is a pity. We have laws in this country, and your boss can give you an illegal order.

From the facts of this case, it is clear that the soldier was on an illegal assignment. Even obstructing a public office holder from performing his functions, thereby violating our laws. Both the giver and enforcer of the illegal order must be punished. That is the language the military understands.

The president was disrespected and can't afford to be soft on this issue, else he will set a bad precedent. Soldiers must see that actions have consequences. Civilians are in control. This is not a military regime.

The minister can just go about accessing private land because he is a minister. He has no right. If he had presented a court order then he should have presented it. You can't go to someone's private property with police because u are minister.

I just feel sorry for that soldier now because when he will be redeployed to Sambisa, those hailing him now won't even be aware. His job there was illegal. You all just can't seem to understand that the military is powerless in the face of politicians. The military have to asslick politicians to get things done.
