Peter Obi, like the rest, doesn’t really care who helps him get into Aso Rock, as long as he reaches his goal. Given the President's antecedents, one may align with Mahdi Shehu's summation that his "sudden" interest in Ekweremadu's release may be politically motivated due to the upcoming 2027 general elections.

However, this may not be entirely true!

Ike Ekweremadu, a former DSP of the FRN, appears to be the most high ranking Nigerian personality currently serving a jail term abroad.

Diplomatically, it's a dent on the image of Nigeria and the President owes it a duty to try to ameliorate the damage by having him (Ekweremadu) sent back in order for him to complete his sentence here at home.

If the latter is the case, Tinubu is in order being the leader of Nigeria - the Giant of Africa and the Pride of the Black Race.

There's no harm in trial!
