If Nigeria Were A Serious Country, Both Yerima & Wike Would Have Been Fired by gidgiddy(op): 8:55pm On Nov 12, 2025
Everyone has seen the video of what happened between the young Naval officer, Yerima, and FCT Minister, Wike.

It was a show of shame that both men could act in such despicable manner in front of the cameras. A Naval officer was reduced to the role of a "Maiguard" for a retired Senior Naval officer. How can a Naval officer become a property guard? And what right has a retired officer got to order a serving officer to do his bidding?

Can Yerima honestly say that amongst his constitutional duty is guarding the uncompleted building of a former Naval Chief?

Then Wike comes along and acts like a hooligan. Pushing people about and verbally assaulting the misguided officer, when he should have calmed the situation, left, and addressed the press. A serving minister threw decorum out the window and acted like a motor park tout.

The fact that Wike's security team and Yerima's men almost came to blows, possibly a shoot out, is shocking

Then there is the issue retired Naval chief, Gambo, who had the effontery to use Naval officers to guard a house he is building. So tax payers are paying officers to act private guards for a retiree's property? What else is he using Yerima for? His cook? Wash-man? Gardener?

Had Nigeria been a serious country, the heads of Yerima, Wike and Gambo would have rolled by now

Anything against Wike the wicked is welcome.

Yerima, ok.

And the clown in uniform kept saying "I have integrity".

What integrity does an officer carrying out an unlawful order have?

Very irresponsible bunch. Someone that should be on a vessel several nautical miles away on the Atlantic Ocean is doing mai-guard at Gudu and is proud of it.

And this is just the simple truth. If this matter gets investigated further, the question will need to be asked, how and where did the former CNS get the billions he used to purchase that property? A plot in Gudawa goes for 300-400 million naira. How much was his salary over the years that he could afford such?
After permitting the wreckless bunkering and stealing of the nations crude oil, Nigeria's military officials are buying properties worth billions everywhere. A former COAS has a 400 unit estate in Dubai! I don't blame them though, if you don't look out for yourself in Nigeria, no one will look out for you.

Yerima is obeying his last command, Wike ought to have followed the proper channel not by shouting

I agree with you but honestly Wike overstepped his boundaries, I can see some people here saying Wike was performing his duties, does that include going about abusing anyone or acting like a hooligan? I have a feeling that was a trap set for him and Wike foolishly entered. Have you noticed the silence of presidency on this matter? And even top military chiefs are hailing the young soldier. Wike should be careful because what happened between him and the soldier is a tip of how people want Wike to be dealt with
