Lol. This is the new strategy for 2027 elections As they have seen that online intimidation and whitewashing of Obi don cast, their latest tactics is to appeal to emotions of Yorubas with stories like this. You recently saw how they moved a thread of some so-called “Yoruba Obas” to front page recently. It’s all a grand plan to buy their way into your hearts for them to have their way, don’t fall for it!!! |

One thing I now realised is that, whenever topics posted online, vast majority will just want to oppose or attack, only to proof a point and nothing more, even if it's illogical and irrational point, he/she must proof coconut head. Vast majority of such character, full here on nairaland. |

It's today I conclude that Nairaland is actually an enabler of tribalism. See the 2 comments in the picture attached. Same comment by two different people but one was left to fly while the other one was banned by the bot. Oga Seun, look into this as this shouldn't make you proud. It means the bot is programmed to ban one tribes comment against another with thesame level of aura.

marlow1962:It’s the greed in them that makes them dumb. I’m telling you as a Yoruba person. I know my people perfectly. That’s why you see a lot of them keeping silent because Chicago boy has satisfied their greed. You can never see them coming out and lash against the government from the man on the pulpit in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to that white-haired professor. |

Most of his people have never travelled outside their region and are taught to hate other tribes from childhood, what do you expect? They can only heal when they shift from the brown roof region |

Tinubu and APC are the ones fueling and igniting the tribal bigotry. To what end exactly. |

Put his story aside, Yorubas and Igbos aren't a tribe that dwell in perpetual enemity. Infact they are the best of friends and brothers. The only thing that's always posed a threat to both is dominating attitudes of both tribes.....they are both proud, intelligent and very social. Another bone of contention is the politicians from both regions and the other region taking advantage of both regions smartness to cause confusion leading to separation and enemity. All these evil acts was sown even before the civil war in the hearts of both tribes but the Igbos own became more pronounced immediately after the civil war. However, Igbos will still prefer to be in the same cubicle with the Yorubas than any other tribes in Nigeria.....hate them or love them, those two tribes are indivisible just like the mouths and the tongues...... Kids make up their own minds based on what they see. So every interaction you have with a Yoruba or Igbo person is either confirming or disproving whatever they were taught. At the end of the day, each of us is an ambassador for our tribe. One single interaction can completely change how someone sees an entire group. chiagozien: |

tishbite41:Good AI : The union between the Yoruba and Igbo communities is celebrated as one of the greatest inter-tribal marriages in Nigeria, uniting two of the nation’s most dynamic cultural groups.I know because my brother married Igbo My sister children 2 married Igbo Here you are saying we were taught to hate Igbo from childhood. Your household/village is not a reflection of Yoruba/Igbo relationship. |

Agreed, there are many wicked Igbos like any other ethnic national. However, the generalization or feminization of a tribal group is totally uncalled for. |

chiagozien:This thing you say. You’re very right. Although, my parents never taught us that but our neighbours did which I believe come from a place of envy and jealousy. Why? Ibos are fvcking industrious, smart, and business-conscious. But our parents are even friends with the Ibos. I remember back then in the Southwest when we were still small living in a face-me-slap you, we have a lot of Yoruba tenants living in that house and only one Ibo tenant, can you believe that my sister and I were the only one closed to the Igbo tenant in the whole building as small as we were by that time. I think I was 5 while my sis was 4 years of age. To me, when you see a Yoruba hating on Ibo, I see it coming from a place of envy (although I stand to be corrected). I used to say this for who cares to listen, Ibo is my favourite tribe in Nigeria. |

Even the yabbies between them they used to yab themselves is more of a joke that has come to stay. Yoruba will call Ibo omo okoro and Ibo too will call Yoruba omo Yoruba etc.....some will say Ibos always eat stone without drinking water and Ibos too will reply that oily stew people or amala and ewedu people.....all those are friendly yabbies.... I remember then when in the university, the way we used to laugh at ourselves......I never knew any discord between my Igbo school and room mates and the Yorubas...we do practically everything in common, same markets, same church, same same, even same night gig.....etc....
