So just as we are now japa to this UK to study, the whites used to Japa to Nigeria to study at the great University of Ife

This is just beautiful... I can see the sport complex building and Motion ground entrance .....

Awesome!! This was 49 years ago and tells an ever refreshing story showing the melting point of town, gown and Yoruba culture.


Those damask, Aso oke fabric wears, cars and jewelleries adorned by invited guests and relatives of the well-dressed graduands showed Yoruba cultural class and opulence.

I can see the aluta boys(today's Grandpas) too with their placards reminding us that it was military regime. That's how the university community was during military rule.

The spirit of aluta has left most public universities and virtually non existent in the new-age private universities.

This was when the children of the elite was privileged to go to school....

If you check well....the people on this photo are either related to the current politicians or rich mogul.

But since the poor people now value education, they decide to introduce bad policies and give the university little or no attention while sending their kids to private universities or abroad.
